‘Really Big Hit’: Peter Dinklage Has High Hopes For His Upcoming Toxic Avenger Reboot

As a longtime fan of Peter Dinklage‘s work, I am beyond thrilled about his upcoming role in the Toxic Avenger reboot. His passion for this project, as evident from his interview with ComicBook.com, is infectious and has only added to my anticipation. Having seen him shine in a variety of roles, ranging from the complex Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones to the quirky Dr. Phil Loder in American Dreamer, I have no doubt that his portrayal of Winston Gooze will be nothing short of extraordinary.

Peter Dinklage, known for his role in Game of Thrones, can’t help but express enthusiasm about the upcoming Toxic Avenger reboot. In an interview with ComicBook.com, he shared that he’s eager for more people to see it because “the film was a massive success at Fantastic Fest in Austin.”

Actor Dinklage praised Macon Blair, a talented writer, director, and actor from The Thicket, as one of his favorites. “He’s both a wonderful person and artist,” Dinklage commented. “I hope that his work gets the recognition it deserves under the harsh spotlight.”

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but express my excitement for the modern reimagining of the 1984 cult classic horror comedy! In this thrilling tale, I find myself cheering on Peter Dinklage’s character, Winston Gooze, a humble janitor who finds himself in an extraordinary situation. When his employer callously denies covering his mounting medical bills for a terminal illness, he takes matters into his own hands – or so it seems, as a daring robbery lands him in a vat of toxic waste instead!

The film received a whopping 92 percent critics and audience score after its premiere at the film festival in 2023. Jacob Tremblay, Taylour Paige, Elijah Wood, and Kevin Bacon are also part of the upcoming reboot. Meanwhile, Matt Bors and Fred Harper are working on a new comic book series, The Toxic Avenger, whose first five issues will be released on October 9.

Regarding Dinklage, there are numerous exciting prospects on his horizon. One of these is the much-anticipated musical fantasy Wicked, where he takes on the role of Dr. Dillamond alongside Ariana Grande portraying Glinda and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba. His last appearance was in Paul Dektor’s comedy-drama American Dreamer, playing Dr. Phil Loder, and more recently, he starred in the 2024 western thriller The Thicket, where he portrayed Reginald Jones.
