Real-Life Star Wars Speeder Bikes Are Here — And They’re Incredibly Fast

As a passionate movie enthusiast, I can hardly contain my excitement! The futuristic flying bike, reminiscent of the ones we’ve marveled at in Star Wars, is now moving from the silver screen to reality. Yes, you read that right; it’s going into production, and I can barely wait to see these marvels soar through our skies!

At the start of this year, a video of an Airbike swiftly gliding across the terrain sparked curiosity on the internet. Numerous spectators questioned its authenticity, suggesting that it appeared excessively unbelievable and could potentially be a product of computer-generated imagery (CGI) or artificial intelligence (AI).

Now, the Polish firm responsible for its creation, Volonaut, asserts that the automobile is authentic and has plans to make it available in limited quantities. The starting price for this exclusive release will be approximately £649,000 or $880,000.

As a movie enthusiast, I’ve just gotten a glimpse of the revised flight video that showcases the single-rider speeder bike. This bad boy allegedly reaches speeds of 124 miles per hour! The noise is deafening and the design is sleek, making it seem like it stepped right off the set of a sci-fi film.

Tomasz Patan, creator and head of Volonaut, discussed the reaction and excitement generated by the initial video release. He stated, “Additional footage like this was eagerly awaited. While the initial launch became a viral sensation, it also sparked debate and online controversy.” He further explained that some people questioned the authenticity of the hoverbike, claiming that the video was manipulated using artificial intelligence or computer-generated imagery.

Volonaut maintains that their videos show genuine, uncensored footage. The company explains that the Airbike operates through a combination of jet propulsion and a tailored flight computer which ensures stability in mid-air, enabling the vehicle to hover autonomously and facilitating easier handling.

Patan shared that his ambition has always been to design a personal flying machine, one so advanced and recognizable that it could easily blend into a science fiction film set. In other words, he aimed to create a unique vehicle that not only performs exceptionally well but also resembles a sports motorcycle while being airborne.

Volonaut further intends to manufacture a commercial model that can reach a maximum speed of 63 mph. This variant will meet the criteria for “ultralight” classifications, allowing users to operate it in rural areas without possessing a pilot’s license. The company will provide training courses for customers, instructing them on safe and responsible flying practices.

Volonaut plans to unveil a prototype model with actual flight videos around the year 2026. The pre-ordering process commences on August 1st.
