Rapper Enchanting Apparently Dies At 26 From Overdoes Of Prescription Drugs; Here’s What Report Says

As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for detail and a heart full of empathy, I am deeply saddened by the untimely demise of the talented rapper Enchanting. Her tragic death serves as a stark reminder of the dangers that lurk in the shadows of the music industry, especially when it comes to substance abuse.

26-year-old rapper Enchanting (born Channing Nicole Larry) tragically passed away due to an unintentional overdose involving prescription drugs. As reported by TMZ, it was confirmed by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office that she succumbed on June 11 at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. The cause of death was a combination of the opioid painkiller Oxycodone and benzodiazepines such as Valium and Xanax.

Born in Germany during her father’s service with the U.S. Army, Enchanting spent most of her childhood in Atlanta and her teenage years in Fort Worth, Texas. At the age of 18, she embarked on her music career following high school graduation. In 2020, she signed with Gucci Mane’s record label, 1017 Records, and put out two albums: No Luv in 2022 and a double album titled Luv Scarred / No Luv in 2023.

Following her passing, Gucci Mane conveyed his sorrow on Instagram, referring to her as “a genuine shining star.” He said, “It’s terribly sad to bid farewell to such a remarkable young woman, a genuine star we will all miss you dearly, Chant.” Similarly, collaborator Boogotti Kasino expressed his grief, reminiscing about Enchanting as a cherished friend who left an indelible positive mark on his life.

Previously, Enchanting discussed the perils of substance abuse. On the Cigar Talk podcast in 2023, she cautioned about the possibility of overdosing, recounting her personal experience of losing a friend to an overdose. She expressed, “I get that people do what they do when they’re in distress or going through something, seeking relief. But it’s a significant risk. It’s possible to take one dose and perish instantly.”

Earlier, Keyshia Ka’oir Davis, Gucci Mane’s wife, spoke up on his behalf after he encountered criticism following the death of Enchanting. Even though Gucci Mane was one of the first to pay tribute to Enchanting, some fans speculated on Instagram that 1017 Records could be experiencing a series of misfortunes and raised concerns about the deaths of artists linked with the label, such as Big Scarr, who passed away from a drug overdose in 2022.

Keyshia addressed the negative comments on Gucci Mane’s tribute post, stating, “Please stop criticizing my husband! He brings artists under his wing to help them thrive and improve their lives! I can only hope things weren’t so contentious! Let’s spread love instead! RIP baby girl, Kesha.”

Gucci Mane has been married to Keyshia Ka’Oir for the past 7 years.
