When the character Peacemaker, originally from DC Comics, made his appearance in The Suicide Squad on the big screen as part of Task Force X, it became clear that he had potential to become a fan favorite. This was further supported by the positive reception towards both the character and the actor who portrayed him. It’s no surprise then, that a Peacemaker spin-off series is soon to premiere on January 13, 2022. As with any comic book series, it won’t be complete without its share of villains!
As a fervent aficionado of comic book lore, I can’t help but share my ardor for one intriguing character who straddles the line between hero and anti-hero – none other than the enigmatic Peacemaker. Though his methods may not align with traditional definitions of a hero, he certainly has no dearth of adversaries to contend with in the comics.
In that spirit, I find myself compelled to delve into some of the formidable foes that have tested the mettle of this unconventional peacekeeper on the silver screen. So, let us embark on a journey through the annals of Peacemaker’s most formidable adversaries in the world of DC Comics.
Much like other iconic characters, our anti-hero has faced his fair share of challenges as he tirelessly pursues his objective – maintaining peace at any cost. It is no secret that he has squared off against some of the mightiest DC characters along the way. This is why we are gathered here today to rank the strongest villains and adversaries that have crossed swords with Peacemaker in the comics.
Stay tuned as we explore the pantheon of formidable foes that have stood against our enigmatic peacekeeper!
10. Infiltrator
It’s accurate to say that Infiltrator isn’t a character who has been extensively developed by DC yet, leaving us with limited knowledge about his abilities and true power. Nevertheless, we do have some information on him – he’s had at least one confrontation with Peacemaker in the comics, making him one of the potential villains that could appear not just in the series but also in future comic book editions.
By its very title, Infiltrator serves within the U.S. administration. Though we’re not privy to the specifics of his talents, it can be inferred that he boasts a variety of unique skills and potentially extraordinary powers, making him an ideal undercover operative. One can only imagine what feats he might accomplish in the future, given his captivating persona – particularly if he were to engage in a battle against Peacemaker, adding another layer of intrigue to both characters.
9. Ratcatcher 2

A few folks are familiar with Ratcatcher 2, since she debuted on the silver screen as a significant figure in The Suicide Squad. As her name implies, she’s the second person to assume the Ratcatcher identity, following in her father’s footsteps. Despite being an endearing character who might have had brushes with the law, she isn’t particularly proficient in combat.
In a more simplified version: Ratcatcher 2 excels in utilizing her brainpower to enhance a gadget her father created for chatting with rodents. However, when it comes to physical combat, she’s not the strongest. Instead, Ratcatcher 2 is skilled at strategic team fights and can command swarms of rats powerful enough to overpower even the mightiest of adversaries. In the movie, these rat swarms were instrumental in defeating Starro.
8. Tsukuri

In the animated DC series, we’ve only encountered Tsukuri. It would be thrilling to witness her in live-action, especially if she appears in Peacemaker given her profession. Notably, much like Peacemaker, she is frequently engaged for unique assignments due to her exceptional talents and expertise.
Born and bred as a fighter and assassin since her childhood years, Tsukuri demonstrates extraordinary hand-to-hand combat abilities. Moreover, she is an exceptionally skilled swordsman who can hold her own against the elite in swordsmanship. Despite lacking any supernatural powers, her exceptional martial arts skills secure her a spot on this list of remarkable individuals.
7. Tzin-Tzin

In simpler terms, you might say that Tzi-Tzin is a character reminiscent of Marvel’s Mandarin, as they share several common traits, such as being leaders of criminal organizations and both having Asian origins. Interestingly, their paths have crossed with Peacemaker in the comics due to Tzi-Tzin’s criminal activities.
Just as Tzin-Tzin bears a strong resemblance to Mandarin, it’s his unique magical abilities that truly set him apart. He possesses the uncanny power to manipulate both humans and animals using his mind control magic. Additionally, he can summon illusions so potent they leave even the most powerful heroes bewildered. As such, Tzin-Tzin proves to be a formidable adversary for Peacemaker.
6. Tiger

As a cinephile, I’ve witnessed the transformative journey of Tiger, a protagonist once known for his alliance with Judomaster. However, the narrative took an unexpected turn as Tiger morphed into one of the world’s most lethal assassins. His services were often sought by the Yakuza, making him their elite hitman. This deadly profession inevitably led to a confrontation with Peacemaker at least once in this character’s intriguing saga.
Tiger might not possess any supernatural abilities, but he’s undeniably a top-tier assassin, ranked among the best globally. His skills in close-quarters fighting are unparalleled, and he’s exceptionally proficient in judo. This combination makes him a formidable adversary, particularly when you factor in his expertise in espionage and covert combat.
5. Levi Kamei

Few people recognize Levi Kamei, but here’s an important fact: Levi Kamei now embodies the essence of nature symbolized by ‘the green.’ In other words, he has taken over the role of Swamp Thing. Although he may not be a villain, he has encountered both heroes and villains, particularly in situations concerning the preservation of natural environments.
Levi Kamei is highly ranked on this list due to his ability to command nature, which has become even more potent with Swamp Thing’s powers. He can now effortlessly shape plants to suit his needs, and his durability is remarkable, as long as he harnesses the power of nature. To truly grasp how powerful Levi Kamei is, simply examine Swamp Thing’s powers and accomplishments.
4. Prometheus

In several respects, Prometheus can be seen as a malevolent counterpart to Batman. Like Batman, Prometheus experienced the tragic loss of his parents at a tender age. Yet, unlike Batman who dedicated himself to fighting crime, Prometheus vowed retribution against law enforcement personnel, believed to be responsible for his parents’ demise. And through his intelligence, he has become a formidable adversary for characters such as Peacemaker.
Instead of possessing superpowers, Prometheus compensates with his inventions and technological prowess. He wears a helmet that enables him to assimilate data directly into his mind, which helps him predict attack patterns and identify vulnerabilities. Furthermore, his armor is exceptionally equipped for combat situations; Prometheus has demonstrated he can overpower any adversary with the aid of his technology and intelligence.
3. Sinestro

Despite the fact that Sinestro is often associated with the role of a Green Lantern and an adversary to the Justice League, there has been a time when he faced off against Peacemaker. If you’re familiar with the abilities of Green Lantern, then you would understand that Sinestro possesses similar powers as he ranks among the most potent supervillains frequently featured in DC comics.
Sinestro wields a yellow power ring, drawing strength from fear. With this ability, he taps into and amplifies the apprehension of his adversaries, utilizing the ring to produce whatever items he needs for battle. His past as a Green Lantern Corps member provides him with combat skills and knowledge that serve him well in conflict situations.
2. Eclipso

Eclipso, a formidable antagonist within the DC universe, was initially the embodiment of Divine Wrath before giving way to the Spectre. His power is referenced in religious texts, with Eclipso being symbolically linked to the flood during the story of Noah’s Ark. He transformed into an evil entity after serving as a catalyst for chaos and subsequently took control over various individuals and beings to carry out his malicious intentions.
Eclipso’s immense strength is derived from his divine attributes, for he embodies the Wrath of God. This grants him abilities akin to those of a deity, making him capable of performing almost any task. Consequently, only another entity endowed with divine powers can match Eclipso in a confrontation.
1. Anti-Monitor

The Anti-Monitor is an adversary who typically requires the combined efforts of various heroes to be defeated. At one instance, Peacemaker encountered this extraordinarily potent cosmic entity, whose power surpasses even the strongest superheroes imaginable. In essence, the Anti-Monitor’s might can be compared to a deity.
Antimonitor possesses remarkable abilities due to his distinctive physiology. Essentially, he manipulates antimatter for energy, which he wields against adversaries effectively. With these powers, he’s wiped out numerous universes, posing a threat that transcends individual galaxies (while Imperiex is indeed formidable among DC villains, he only constitutes a universal threat). His strength is such that even Spectre, an entity with divine powers, struggled to contain him, despite assistance from some of the most potent magical entities in the cosmos.
