Ranking Goku and Vegeta’s 12 Epic Fusions: Which One Reigns Supreme?

Fusion signifies a process where two entities combine to create a stronger whole. Various techniques exist for merging. The counterpart to this is called fission. While it wasn’t initially emphasized in Toriyama’s Dragon Ball manga, fusion eventually took on significant importance in the series. Nowadays, most characters have experienced at least one fusion; some of these unions are considered canon, while others were merely introduced as amusing gimmicks in different spin-offs.

In this piece, we’ll delve into the topic of Son Goku and Vegeta, two iconic characters from the show. Here, we’ll explore every single fusion they undergo – in the main storyline and spin-offs. We’ll describe each fusion, detailing their powers, as their rankings will be determined by their level of awesomeness and appeal. So sit back, relax, and let’s dive into this exciting journey together!

12. Gorillin (Goku + Krillin)

In the game Dragon Ball Fusions, Gorillin is a character created by combining Goku and Krillin using the Metamo-Ring. This unique fusion results in a boy with black, bristly hair, reminiscent of both characters. Notably, just like Krillin, Gorillin lacks a nose, while possessing six points on his forehead for the same reason. His eyes are round and black, similar to Goku’s.

Gorillin dons the Turtle School Uniform, but with an interesting twist – the uniform features red stripes that run throughout his entire body. Additionally, he wields the Metamo Ring on his left arm, and being half Saiyan, he possesses a tail.

11. Coohan (Goku + Gohan)

Coohan is a character who originated as a fusion of Son Goku and his son, Son Gohan, using the Metamo Ring in the game Dragon Ball Fusions for the 3DS. He’s part Saiyan and part Human. His facial features are a blend of both father and son. Like Gohan, he has spiky hair, and he dons the Whis Gi with black lining instead of the usual white. Interestingly, his pants resemble those worn by Piccolo that Gohan used to wear. Coohan came into existence as a fusion between Son Goku and Son Gohan through the Capsule Corporation’s Metamo Ring invention.

10. Barlot (Goku + Bardock)

In the Dragon Ball Fusions game, Barlot is a unique fusion character that results from combining Bardock and his son Goku (Kakarot) using the Metamo Ring. He primarily embodies Bardock’s traits, including his distinctive attire and physical features, a scar on his left cheek, a blood-stained red bandana, and armor reminiscent of Bardock’s, but colored white and orange instead.

Barlot consistently sports a self-assured grin, indicating his fearlessness against any adversary – a trait shared by both him and his kin. Much like the iconic character Goku, Barlot is a fusion of the Saiyan race, possessing an uncorrupted spirit at heart.

9. Den-Goku (Goku + Dende)

In my humble opinion as a movie critic, Den-Goku is an intriguing concept – a fictional amalgamation of Goku and Dende, brought about by the magical Potara Earrings. This fusion was merely a thought experiment by Son Goku during the Majin Buu Saga in the anime, contemplating who he should merge with to vanquish Super Buu. Unfortunately, for us fans, Den-Goku never made an appearance on screen as Goku ultimately fused with Vegeta instead to create Vegito. However, this fusion finds its life in the Dragon Ball Z Collectible Card Game, where it has been given a name and a place among the game’s roster of characters.

As a movie reviewer, let me share my thoughts on Den-Goku – an intriguing character who bears a striking resemblance to Goku, with one key difference: his emerald green skin, reminiscent of Dende’s hue. His muscular structure in Namek form is evident, but it’s his head that carries the familiar features and hair style of our protagonist, Goku.

Furthermore, Den-Goku sports antennae akin to Dende, adds a distinctive touch to his appearance. He dons the same attire as Goku, including the iconic red vest, giving him an instantly recognizable look. However, it seems he is not as formidable in combat, given that he’s the fusion of Goku and a non-fighter, leaving one to wonder about his true potential.

8. Gorus (Goku + Beerus)

In the Dragon Ball Fusions video game, Gorus is introduced as a unique character who results from the merger of Son Goku and Beerus, facilitated by the Metamo Ring. He embodies both Saiyan and Godlike traits. His facial features bear a strong resemblance to Goku, while his skin takes on a purple hue similar to Beerus’s. Notably, Gorus dons part of Beerus’s robe, complemented by golden pants, accessories that mimic those from Goku’s Gi, and boots.

As a devoted movie buff, I’d put it this way: Just like Goku, I sport an identical hairstyle, and I even have Beerus’ unique cat ears. This extraordinary character, Gorus, was born from the EX-Fusion of Son Goku and Beerus, a process made possible through the innovative Metamo Ring created by the Capsule Corporation. I’m thrilled to be among the competitors in the Jikuuichi Budokai.

7. Karoly (Goku + Broly, EX-Fusion)

In simpler terms, Karoly is a unique character created by fusing Broly, the Legendary Super Saiyan, with Son Goku (also known as Kakarot), during their Super Saiyan state, using the Metamo Ring. This fusion character debuted and only appeared in the Dragon Ball Fusions video game for 3DS.

6. Ultra Fusion (Tekka + Goku, Goten, Trunks, and Pan or 4 others)

In the game “Dragon Ball Fusions,” Ultra Fusion represents the fusion that takes place when Tekka combines with five other characters using the Fusion Dance. As shown in the game’s promotional materials, Ultra Fusion is often depicted as a fusion of a young Son Goku, Son Pan GT, young Trunks, and Son Goten.

In my world as a passionate film enthusiast, I’d put it this way: “I come across as an extraordinary character, a unique blend of Saiyan and Human, born neither wholly one nor the other, much like the fascinating half-breeds we often see in science fiction epics. This intriguing figure debuts and remains a solo act in the captivating 3DS game, ‘Dragon Ball Fusions.’ Standing tall with a regal presence, I’m draped in several swathes of red fabric and adorned with a distinctive Metamoran vest. When combined through this game’s extraordinary fusion process, I manifest into an awe-inspiring form that showcases the traits of both Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan Blue. However, in certain promotional materials, I’m depicted as embodying the characteristics of a Super Saiyan 4, but with a striking golden hue instead.

5. Vegenks (Vegeta + Future Trunks, EX-Fusion)

Vegenks is a unique character created by fusing Vegeta and an alternate future version of his son Trunks using the Metamo Ring. This fusion only takes place in the video game “Dragon Ball Fusions” on the Nintendo 3DS. He’s a half-Saiyan, half-Human being, with facial characteristics that blend both Vegeta and Trunks, but Vegeta’s features are more prominent.

The character sports a distinctive hairstyle – it’s purple with two raised strands at the back, and it darkens to black at the nape. His eyebrows are also purple, and his eyes sparkle light blue. Vegenks is dressed in a fashion reminiscent of Vegeta during the Resurrection of F storyline, but he sports pants instead of the traditional outfit. On top, he wears a jacket similar to Future Trunks’ attire, but this one is white and gold.

4. Gokule (Goku + Mr. Satan)

In the series, Gokule represents the merger of Goku and Mr. Satan brought about by the Potala Earrings. This character made a single appearance in a scene where Goku fantasized about such a fusion. Much like Mr. Satan, he adopts absurd poses and exhibits an arrogant demeanor when facing opponents, showcasing his newfound abilities. Despite this, he’s significantly stronger than Goku on his own, but noticeably weaker compared to the power levels of their respective fusions.

3. Veku (Vegeta + Goku, failed)

Veku, an unsuccessful fusion, came about when Goku and Vegeta executed the Fusion Dance incorrectly, causing a disruption in the merging process and reducing their combined strength and abilities to their absolute minimum levels.

He resembles Gogeta in many ways, but is notably smaller, significantly heavier, and considerably less powerful. During his initial appearance, he didn’t showcase any exceptional talents beyond basic ki control, endurance against Janemba’s attacks, and impressive speed when running.

A substantial portion of his “attacks” were successful due to either accidental trips or simple oversight. In the movie Dragon Ball Super: Broly, the incorrect fusion occurs initially because Vegeta misunderstands Piccolo and Goku’s guidelines for the Fusion Dance, leading them to execute it again while waiting 30 minutes under Freeza’s surveillance, as he distracts Broly.

2. Vegito (Vegeta + Goku, Potara Fusion)

Vegito is a character formed when Goku and Vegeta combine using the Potara Earrings. During their fight against Super Buu, Vegito exists in both his base form and as Super Vegito (after Gohan’s absorption). He ended the fusion by entering inside Buu because he had reached his maximum strength for the day. Later, he transforms into Vegito Blue, which is Goku’s strongest combined form, surpassing Fusion Zamasu from Dragon Ball Super.

1. Gogeta (Vegeta + Goku, Metamoran Fusion)

Fusion Reborn” to defeat Janemba. Later on, he was seen again in Dragon Ball GT, where he combined his Fusion Dance with the Super Saiyan 4 transformation during his battle against Yi Xing Long.

In a later development, there emerged a Super form, which was the result of the fusion between Goku and Vegeta, achieved via the Metamoran Fusion Dance. This powerful entity is often regarded as an updated version or primary counterpart of Gogeta, who had previously made appearances in the Dragon Ball Z movies and Dragon Ball GT anime. First introduced as a character in the movie Dragon Ball Super: Broly.
