As a die-hard fan of the 28 Days Later series, I can hardly contain my excitement as Ralph Fiennes has just revealed that we’re getting not one, not two, but three films in the sequel: 28 Years Later! Having grown up on these thrilling zombie adventures, I can’t help but feel like a kid on Christmas morning. With Fiennes reprising his role as a doctor, Jodie Comer and Aaron Taylor-Johnson joining the cast, and Cillian Murphy returning to his iconic role, it’s safe to say that this trilogy is shaping up to be an unforgettable journey through post-apocalyptic Britain.

Following weary months spent pondering over the plot for the upcoming zombie adventure film, Ralph Fiennes has shared insights about “28 Years Later”.

For fans anxiously anticipating the release of the sequel to the 2007 movie “28 Weeks Later,” an exciting update has been shared by the actor from “The Invisible Woman.” In his recent chat with IndieWire, the talented actor known for his role in “The Menu” dropped a bombshell, hinting that the upcoming film will actually be a three-part series titled “28 Years Later,” with Fiennes playing a crucial part as a doctor.

Continuing the conversation with the media, Fiennes explained that the exhilarating film portrays post-apocalyptic Britain, which has been battling a plague for 28 years. This region is teeming with aggressive and infected humans, leaving only a handful of healthy survivors who struggle to stay alive in small communities.

The storyline centers around a boy trying to find a doctor to help his dying mother.

In a captivating voice reminiscent of his iconic role as Lord Voldemort from the Harry Potter series, the actor shared that he guided his mother across breathtaking northern English landscapes. Yet, concealed within forests, hills, and woodlands nearby were the contaminated individuals.

Later, he mentioned that the boy ultimately encounters a man, who happens to be a physician. Initially, this individual may come across as peculiar or unusual to the spectators, yet it’s essential to know that he is truly a beneficial influence in disguise.

In addition to Ralph Fiennes, the movie “28 Years Later” boasts an impressive ensemble, which includes stars like Jodie Comer and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Notably, Cillian Murphy returns to his character from the original 2002 film titled “28 Days Later.

In May of this year, Tim Rothman announced that the Oppenheimer character would return for the sequel. The chairman of Sony Motion Pictures Group hinted that Rothman’s role would be a delightful surprise for viewers who watch the movie, a surprise that will only deepen as the story unfolds.

In the upcoming installment of the zombie series, the writing and directing duties will be handled by the same team that previously worked on 28 Days Later.

With Danny Boyle on the direction duties, the script will be co-written by Alex Garland.
