Rachel Zegler’s ‘Snow White’ Re-Release Catastrophe: Just 17 Tickets Per Theater!

Rachel Zegler’s Snow White just flopped again, and this time even harder.

Over the weekend, Disney subtly brought back their contentious live-action movie in 1,330 cinemas for Mother’s Day celebration. However, this decision turned out to be counterproductive as the film earned a meager revenue of approximately $335,000 at the box office.

If my calculations are accurate, it means approximately 17 tickets are sold on average at each theater. The average ticket price is roughly $15, although that could be a bit optimistic.

The breakdown per theater is actually more embarrassing:

  • Friday: ~3–4 people ($69,000)
  • Saturday: ~8 people ($156,000)
  • Sunday: ~5–6 people ($110,000)

Box office is a massive bust

Regarding the $335,000 spent on promotion, it failed to significantly impact the earnings of Snow White at the box office. Currently, its domestic earnings stand at $86,494,529, while foreign gross is reported at $116,339,785. The total worldwide box office revenue for Snow White is $202,834,314, a figure that Disney has recently confirmed as a substantial disappointment, much like the performance of Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World.

Disney’s film, titled “Snow White,” is estimated to have cost more than a quarter of a billion dollars, with an additional marketing budget of around a hundred million. However, Disney will only receive half of the revenue from domestic ticket sales and less than half from foreign earnings. It seems that at the very least, Disney stands to lose a hundred million dollars on this production.

The films “The Marvels” and “Indiana Jones 5,” as well as “Wish,” were financial disappointments for Disney, collectively costing them $411 million.

A Disney producer’s son has publicly criticized Rachel Zegler for the poor performance of Snow White, allegedly due to her contentious remarks. These remarks encompassed negative opinions about the cherished original animated movie, political statements in connection with social media posts during the release of the Snow White trailer, and comments expressing desire for harm against President Donald Trump and his followers.

Up next for Rachel Zegler

Following Snow White, Rachel Zegler won’t be starring in any big-budget movies.

In a fashion reminiscent of Brie Larson after the box office flop of “The Marvels”, Rachel Zegler is currently performing in a play in London. Yet, it’s worth noting that the ticket sales for this production seem to be lagging behind those of “Snow White” at present.

In addition to being recognized for her role, Zelger is set to appear in an independent film titled a ‘mom drama indie flick,’ which stars Marisa Tomei. Her character will be portraying the daughter of Tomei’s ex-punk rocker mom who struggles with pill addiction, hinting at promising success for this upcoming production.
