45 days after its cinema run, Disney officially reveals when you can watch the digital version of “Snow White,” starring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot.
Beginning May 13th, Disney’s Snow White will make its digital debut across various platforms such as Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango Now. From June 24th onwards, you’ll be able to purchase the movie in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD formats.
No release date has been announced for Disney+.
Box office disaster
The fairy tale film “Snow White” has underperformed significantly at the box office for Disney, earning just $86.1 million in domestic sales and an additional $114.4 million from international markets. Its total revenue barely exceeded the $200 million mark globally.
The proposed budget for Snow White was $270 million. However, due to the fact that studios do not receive 100% of box office earnings, it is estimated that Disney has incurred a loss of at least $100 million on this production.
It’s widely thought that the poor performance of “Snow White” in its live-action adaptation might be the reason behind Disney deciding to abandon further live-action remakes of their classic animated tales.
A Disney producer’s son publicly criticized Rachel Zegler over the underperformance of Snow White, citing her contentious remarks as a potential contributing factor.
What’s next for Rachel Zegler?
On Saturday, the actress marked her 24th birthday. Lately, she’s been captivating audiences in the play “Romeo & Juliet,” and has even received a Broadway.com Audience Award nomination.
It’s been announced that Zegler will play Eva Perón in a new production of the 1978 musical “Evita,” written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, set in London. Unfortunately, ticket sales for this show seem to be lagging behind those for “Snow White.
I just learned that Rachel Zegler is set to appear again in a small-budget independent film called “She Gets It From Me“, alongside Marisa Tomei. In this movie, Zegler will portray the daughter of a former punk rocker mother, played by Tomei, who struggles with prescription drugs. The story follows their unconventional journey as they attempt to rebuild their relationship and find common ground.
What’s next for Gal Gadot?
Last week, it was revealed that Gal Gadot will play the lead role in an upcoming World War II thriller titled “Ruin.” The film also stars Matthias Schoenaerts and is being directed by Niki Caro.
The story unfolds in post-World War II Germany, focusing on a former concentration camp inmate (played by Gadot), who is compelled to join forces with an unanticipated ally – a German soldier (Schoenaerts) – as they both aim to retaliate against a notorious Nazi SS unit.
