As a dedicated follower who’s been through the emotional rollercoaster that is reality television, I can certainly relate to Rachel Lindsay‘s journey. Her story reminds me of my own life, where one moment I’m saying “yes” to an exciting opportunity, and the next I’m questioning whether it was the right decision.
Reflecting on life’s memorable instances can be quite an emotional journey. Regardless if they were joyful or challenging, every moment in our lives carries significance, as it did for Rachel Lindsay. She recounts her initial days following her engagement to Bryan Abasolo (now her ex), expressing feelings of unease and fear after accepting his proposal during Season 13 of The Bachelorette.
On the most recent edition of Curtis Stone’s Getting Grilled podcast, Lindsay shared, “I was unusually reserved on my journey home. I felt quite unsettled.” This indicates that she had doubts about getting married.
She went on to say, “I was really afraid. It was as if I exclaimed, ‘Wow, now I have to inform my parents that I’ve become engaged!’ You see, when I departed for The Bachelor [ette], I assured them, ‘Don’t fret, I won’t fall for any of these men.’ But I ended up doing exactly that, so the thought of disclosing this to them was absolutely petrifying.”
Lindsay went on to explain that she and Abasolo found common ground through mutual passions. However, during the program, she admitted feeling fearful since, in truth, the cameras would eventually stop rolling, leaving one to confront the raw essence of real life.
Following the initial night, she felt there might be promise, yet remained doubtful, thinking, ‘I can’t imagine myself marrying this person,’ she continued.
Following their engagement in 2017, Abasolo and Lindsay tied the knot in Mexico in August 2019. They were married for five years before Abasolo filed for divorce in January 2024, stating irreconcilable differences as the cause.
Additionally, Abasolo requested a monthly spousal support of $16,000 from the court, however, the judge granted two separate payments amounting to $13,257 per month instead.
In the current situation, things are somewhat strained between them. Recently, Abasolo submitted additional legal documents to a judge, claiming that Lindsay called him a “parasite” after transferring money digitally to his account last week.
Since the very beginning, I’ve made it a point to collaborate constructively with Rachel and her team, aiming for a peaceful resolution in this matter, as expressed in my submission, based on Page Six’s report.
Yet, he pointed out that Lindsay maintains creating a fictional account and insists on legal probes related to their divorce, leading to an intricate and stormy process overall.
