R-Truth Shockingly Released from WWE After 17 Years

After 17 years of service, professional wrestler Ron Killings (better known as R-Truth) has announced his departure from WWE. At the age of 53, he took to social media to thank both WWE and their dedicated fanbase for their support throughout his tenure.

I regret to share this news with everyone. Unfortunately, I’ve been let go from WWE. I’d like to express my gratitude to WWE for the journey we shared, but my deepest thanks go out to each and every one of you who joined me on this adventure. Your love, support, and appreciation over the years mean more to me than words can express. Thank you.

Wrestling journalist Sean Ross Sapp confirmed the exit of Killings on X:

R-Truth’s legacy

Leaving not long after being part of a storyline with WWE Undisputed Champion John Cena, R-Truth’s departure transpired following his matches against Cena. At WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event, he battled and was defeated by Cena who resorted to cheating to secure the victory. Moreover, on “SmackDown”, he wrestled JC Mateo only a few days before the announcement, but unfortunately, he also lost that bout.

During his professional journey, Killings gained recognition by claiming the WWE United States Championship twice, being the WWE Tag Team Champion twice (once with Kofi Kingston and once with The Miz), and setting a record for the most reigns as the WWE 24/7 Champion – an impressive total of 54 times. This association with the title and its amusing segments has become strongly linked to his persona.
