I recently caught up with Quentin Tarantino and his wife, Daniella Pick, and they shared some personal news. They’ve really put down roots in Israel, telling Channel 12 in Tel Aviv that they now consider it home. They’ve been living there with their two kids for a few years now, and it sounds like they’re there to stay.
Pick, a performer who works as an actress, model, and singer, openly discussed their relationship and Quentin Tarantino’s reaction to the recent conflict in Israel.
Despite the risks, leaving was never an option, Pick explained. She said Quentin was remarkably calm and often wouldn’t even bother going to the shelter unless she insisted. Pick also shared that the director had even made a dark joke, saying, “If something happens, I’ll die as a Zionist.”
Despite rumors that Quentin Tarantino might work on a play in London, he and his wife have no intention of leaving Tel Aviv. He told reporters he loves living in Israel, enjoying simple things like playing with his kids, exploring the neighborhood, biking, and spending time with friends over dinner, drinks, and cigars. He emphasized that he wouldn’t be there if he didn’t love it.
Pick described her husband as a loving father and a strong partner. She shared, “He’s warm, loves family, is affectionate, makes me laugh, and is always playful. He’s an incredible husband, and we have a great relationship.” They first met in 2009 while promoting Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds and married in 2018.
The interview revealed details about their life at home. Pick showed the reporter Quentin Tarantino’s home theater, which featured custom leather seats she bought in the United States. Tarantino mentioned they enjoy watching movies with friends, and that his wife, Daniella, is comfortable even watching challenging films when they have company.
Pick also discussed her work as an actress. Quentin Tarantino urged her to accept a role in Danny A. Abeckaser’s new film, The Perfect Gamble. Tarantino explained that his biggest piece of advice to her was to memorize her lines, and he even helped her practice. Pick shared how she prepared: she recorded Tarantino reading her lines on her phone and then rehearsed them while doing chores like laundry and dishes.
She shared that she and her partner are creating a new show together, in which she’ll be acting, and she’s also getting back to making music with some upcoming releases.
Pick spoke about the recent passing of her father, Israeli singer Zvika Pick, admitting it was a painful subject. “It’s incredibly difficult… what matters most to me is that people continue to enjoy and listen to his music,” she shared.
Their home life is full of little personal touches, she shared. Tarantino loves really spicy food, and Pick joked about having to cook meals that could handle his high tolerance for heat. She also mentioned that despite all his success, Tarantino once worried he wouldn’t be able to have a family.
Pick expressed happiness for the individual, noting he’d once doubted he’d achieve his goals, but was glad to see him find fulfillment both as a writer and in his personal life as a father and partner.
Pick shared that she finds life in Israel to be satisfying and well-rounded. She explained that after dedicating several years to raising her children, she’s now able to pursue work and personal interests, leading to a greater sense of self-fulfillment. “I’ve found a perfect balance,” she said.
