PUBG is shutting down on PS4 and Xbox One later this year

As a dedicated fan, I’m sharing some exciting yet bittersweet news about PUBG: Battlegrounds. The amazing team behind this epic battle royale game has announced that their support for the PS4 and Xbox One versions will conclude on November 13, 2025. After this date, it’ll no longer be possible to play or download the game on these platforms. So let’s cherish our remaining time in the Battlegrounds!

The team has announced its intention to move PUBG Console to newer generation consoles, a decision that includes phasing out the older versions of the game due to their hindrance in development progress. According to their statement, this transition aims to deliver enhanced visuals and smoother frame rates for console players. Furthermore, they anticipate resolving persistent crashes by implementing memory-optimized adjustments.

You can read the full statement below:

Previously, PUBG was a game that players had to purchase for last-generation consoles. But when it went free-to-play in 2022, there were no refunds available for those who had already bought it. However, if you keep using the same PS or Xbox account, you can transfer your progress seamlessly to the latest generation of consoles without any trouble. If you’re hoping for a refund though, you won’t be able to get one from the store.

Regardless of whether you’re enjoying PUBG on your PS4 or Xbox One, you need to make up your mind about where to move to by November 13.
