Producer Debunks Jack Sparrow’s Son In ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ 6, Seemingly Confirms Margot Robbie

Jerry Bruckheimer, who has produced the Pirates of the Caribbean films for many years, is suggesting the latest reports about the next movie centering on Jack Sparrow’s son might not be true.

The rumor said the new flick will focus on his son as the lead character and feature Margot Robbie.

Jerry Bruckheimer responds

In an interview with ET Online, Jerry Bruckheimer addressed rumors about Pirates of the Caribbean 6. He was asked about reports that the film would focus on Jack Sparrow’s son and feature Margot Robbie in a new role.

“They’re close on part of it. That’s all I’ll tell you,” Bruckheimer responded.

When asked directly about Robbie’s potential participation and if they’d had any conversations with her, Bruckheimer simply stated, “Yes, we’ve spoken with her.”

Reports indicated Robbie was once involved with a version of the script centered around female pirates. It seems that initial script was either discarded or combined with the current one being developed.

So, ET seems to think there might be something to the rumors about Margot Robbie being involved, but they’re skeptical about the part about her playing Jack Sparrow’s son. Basically, they think Robbie’s casting could be true, just not in that role.

“I think you’re going up the right road,” Bruckheimer replied.

Interestingly, when Entertainment Tonight suggested Robbie could star with Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow, Bruckheimer didn’t say whether that was a possibility.

What This Could Mean

According to what Jerry Bruckheimer has said, the idea of Jack Sparrow having a son might not be included in the next Pirates of the Caribbean film.

It seems increasingly likely that Margot Robbie will be in the new film, and she might even star alongside Johnny Depp if he reprises his role as Captain Jack.

Bruckheimer previously said Depp would return if he likes the script.

Although Disney hasn’t made anything official yet, the latest news indicates the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie will likely feature a mix of familiar characters and a new role for Robbie, instead of focusing solely on Jack Sparrow’s son taking over the franchise.
