Last month, Prince William visited the set of *Doctor Who*, offering fans an unusual look at the royal experiencing the show’s world of time travel and adventure. He toured Bad Wolf Studios in Cardiff, where *Doctor Who* and other shows like *His Dark Materials* are filmed.
While visiting, the Prince had a chance to look inside the Fifteenth Doctor’s TARDIS and even stood at the main control console.
Kensington Palace released photos of the Prince exploring the Doctor Who set, even getting a chance to sit in the famous time machine. This made him the latest in a long line of actors – starting with William Hartnell and continuing with Ncuti Gatwa – to experience the role firsthand.

I got a peek behind the scenes of The Other Bennet Sister recently – it’s a new period drama that looks really promising, and they’re aiming for a 2026 release. It was exciting to see how they’re bringing that story to life!
He visited students who receive the Prince William Bursary and participated in a puppet-making workshop at St Albans RC Primary School, encouraging their creativity and learning.
A video showing highlights from his visit was shared on the Kensington Palace’s social media accounts, along with this message:
Today, I visited Bad Wolf Studios in Cardiff and met with talented trainees supported by BAFTA and Screen Alliance Wales. It was inspiring to see the sets of shows like *The Other Bennet Sister* and *Doctor Who*, and even join a fun puppetry workshop at St Albans RC Primary School. Both BAFTA and Bad Wolf Studios are doing fantastic work to nurture the next generation of filmmakers and creatives. I’m looking forward to the BAFTA Cymru Awards tonight and wish all the nominees the best of luck!

Throughout its long history, *Doctor Who* has featured a few encounters with royalty. A notable instance is when David Tennant’s Doctor saved Buckingham Palace in the 2007 Christmas special, “Voyage of the Damned.” Following Prince William’s recent visit to the set, fans have playfully speculated about him appearing in an episode, but there’s been no official word about it.
