The royal family member graced the opening of the Emergency and Critical Care Conference in Birmingham, where it was revealed that he would be taking on the role as the new patron for the College of Paramedics. During this event, attention was given to bolster the resilience of emergency responders during challenging scenarios.
The Prince of Wales shares a unique bond with first responders, having collaborated extensively with their teams after his tenure in the Royal Air Force. Mental health issues among these frontline workers are deeply important to him.
At the gathering, the Duke of Cornwall expressed his appreciation for being bestowed the title and the chance to serve alongside emergency responders.
He expressed his delight at being the College of Paramedics’ latest patron, stating he was thrilled to attend their inaugural Emergency and Critical Care Conference. A big thank you goes out to everyone who helped make this event happen.
Prince William also mentioned that paramedics and those in emergency services are often likened to a “Swiss Army knife” on the frontlines of healthcare. They’re versatile, equipped with various skills, and most importantly, they excel at working effectively under pressure.
He went on to explain, “Spending time in these positions provided me with a deeper insight into the daily struggles you encounter, and instilled in me an enduring determination to assist your community in every way possible. To me, this isn’t just another job.
Over the last year, Prince William and Kate Middleton have faced some challenging times, with Kate bravely fighting cancer for close to nine months.
