Prince William and Prince Harry recently came together in the United Kingdom for the funeral ceremony of their deceased uncle, Lord Robert Fellows, who passed away at 82 years old on July 29th. The service took place at St. Mary’s Church in Snettisham, Norfolk, on August 28th. During this gathering, it is said that the brothers chose to maintain a distance from each other. Lord Fellows was not only a relative but also the husband of Princess Diana before her untimely demise.
According to The Sun’s article, it was stated that the two princes were present at the funeral, albeit they chose separate seats and did not interact directly with each other during the service.
An individual who spoke with the publication on condition of anonymity revealed that they weren’t aware that Harry and the Prince of Wales were in attendance until after the ceremony because the two had made a point to keep their involvement in the event secretive. Another source disclosed, “Neither William nor Harry were observed conversing with one another, and they maintained a certain distance from each other during the event.”
According to information from the palace, there have been reports that Harry’s efforts to contact his brother via text messages and phone calls were left unanswered in the past. A source close to the situation described the rift between the brothers as being quite severe, but emphasized that it is not beyond repair.
It’s generally accepted that tensions between Harry and William arose in 2016, following William’s concerns about Harry rushing into his relationship with Meghan Markle. The strife was initially brought to light in 2020 when Harry and Meghan declared they were leaving their royal roles behind and relocating to the U.S., where they now live with their two kids.
