Prince Harry And Prince William’s Rift ‘Very Bad’, But Sources Say Reconciliation Still Possible

As someone who has followed the royal family for decades, I must say that the ongoing rift between Prince Harry and his brother William is truly heart-wrenching. Having witnessed their bond grow from childhood playmates to military comrades, it’s disheartening to see them at odds.

Tensions between Prince Harry and the royal family have reached an all-time high, yet there’s still hope for reconciliation, sources close to the situation told People magazine this week. However, efforts by Harry to connect with his father, Prince Charles, and his brother, Prince William, through phone calls and letters appear to be falling on deaf ears as neither has responded, the report stated on July 31. Despite the brothers’ relationship being “very bad,” it is not considered beyond repair, a royal insider added.

At Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in September 2022, William, Harry, Kate Middleton, and Meghan Markle presented a united appearance. However, during Harry’s visit to the U.K. in May 2023 for King Charles’ coronation ceremony, they didn’t exchange any glances, and they also didn’t meet when Harry visited his homeland in May of the same year to celebrate the Invictus Games’ tenth anniversary.

The significant divide within the royal family became evident in 2020 when Harry chose to relocate his family to the United States, concerned for his wife’s well-being. Since then, he has openly discussed the intricacies of his bond with William in his highly debated autobiography, Spare, portraying the Prince of Wales as both his cherished brother and formidable adversary, in interviews with Oprah Winfrey, as well as in a Netflix documentary.

As a devoted admirer, I too have been hoping for a reconciliation among the royal brothers, given the challenging health news surrounding King Charles and Princess Kate’s cancer diagnosis. However, as of now, any signs of progress in this regard remain elusive.

For those who may not know, King Charles, aged 75, was diagnosed with cancer this February, after undergoing a surgery due to an enlarged prostate. In March, it was Kate Middleton who disclosed her diagnosis, following much conjecture about her prolonged absence from the public sphere. Despite their diagnoses, both royals remain optimistic about their recovery and have continued to participate in their royal duties.

At major public functions such as the King’s Birthday Parade (Trooping the Colour) in June and the Men’s Wimbledon finals in July’s end, it is common to see Kate, Princess of Wales, joining Prince William and their children, George, Charlotte, and Louis. Meanwhile, Queen Camilla frequently appears with the King at significant events.
