As a dedicated fan who has followed the Sussexes’ journey since their fairytale wedding, I must say that this holiday season card is nothing short of magical. The sight of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, running toward their parents with their infectious energy, warms my heart like a cup of hot cocoa on a frosty winter’s eve.
On December 16, Monday, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, also known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have officially ushered in the festive spirit by sending out their 2024 holiday greeting card. This year’s card is particularly heartwarming, as it showcases their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, together with the couple.
In a heartfelt, six-photo update this year, my beloved family members Harry, Meghan, Archie (5), and Lilibet (3) shared some memorable moments from our private life. Among these, there’s a beautiful snapshot of our children playing and running towards us – we always cherish such precious moments despite our decision to keep them away from the public eye in recent times due to our unique circumstances as a royal family.
In the festive Christmas card shared this year, Lilibet appears dressed casually in a summer outfit, which supports Harry’s earlier statement about her sharing the red hair trait of their ancestor from the male line. Meanwhile, her elder brother, Archie, is pictured wearing a khaki sweater and jeans.
The festive card featured extra pictures, some of which were taken during Harry and Meghan’s August visit to Colombia and their latest excursion to Nigeria.
As your go-to lifestyle guide, I’d like to share with you a heartfelt message from The Sussexes. They extend their warmest wishes for a delightful holiday season and a prosperous new year, not just on behalf of Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, but also from Archewell Productions and the Archewell Foundation. Enjoy the festivities!
Judging from the formal nature of the photos on the card, excepting only a family photo featuring Harry, Meghan, and their children, and the professional tone of the message, it’s clear that this card is meant for professional purposes by Harry, Meghan, and their team. The Sussexes are likely to send another card exclusively to their close relatives and friends, keeping that one private.
In their 2021 Christmas card, Archie and Lilibet were previously shown. At that time, Archie was two years old while Lilibet was just seven months old. The children’s most recent appearance was in the couple’s Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, which premiered in 2022.
Last week, Harry offered Christmas blessings to kids who had lost loved ones in the military, reassuring them that it’s normal to experience a range of feelings during this joyous time of year.
Donning a Santa hat, he participated in a virtual holiday gathering with 280 young individuals organized by Scotty’s Little Soldiers charity on Tuesday. During the question-and-answer session, the author of Spare expressed words of encouragement to the orphaned children, acknowledging, “Some folks will be jubilant and merry, others may feel introspective, some might feel sorrowful, and it’s possible that you’ll experience all these emotions at once – and that’s perfectly okay.
He continued, ‘Don’t forget, you have each other, we’ve got Scotty’s, and there are those who care deeply for you.’
During a chat with Marie Claire in November, Meghan Markle spoke about how she and her kids celebrate Christmas. As a former Suits star, she openly shared that the holiday season at their home becomes more delightful every year as her children grow into curious stages of life. Now, they actively engage in traditional festivities and freely express their thoughts on topics that intrigue them.
