Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Announce Next Tour Three Months After Nigeria Trip To THIS Country

As a seasoned lifestyle expert with a keen eye for international trends and royal affairs, I must say that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to defy expectations and carve their own path in the world stage. Their decision to accept an invitation to Colombia, despite potential security concerns and political turmoil, speaks volumes about their commitment to making a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.

Three months ago, against the wishes of the British royal family, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle embarked on a successful unofficial tour to Nigeria, defying expectations. Now, they’re ready to take on another adventure in that region. While Prince Harry continues his fight for police protection from the UK government, the couple has been invited for a fresh overseas trip on the African continent.

In simpler terms, the Vice President of Colombia, Francia Márquez, confirmed through an official statement that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have agreed to her invitation to visit the country. They plan to focus their non-royal trip on addressing the escalating issue of violence against children in Colombia, as reported by The Mirror.

In a statement released on Thursday, August 1st, Ms. Marquez, serving as Vice President of Colombia and Minister of Equality and Equity, expressed her delight to share that Prince Harry and Meghan, known as The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have graciously accepted an invitation to explore our stunning nation.

The specific dates for their visit have yet to be revealed, however, the Sussexes have made a commitment to accompany the Vice President to the lively cities of Bogotá, as well as Cartagena and Cali in the Caribbean and Pacific regions.

As a lifestyle advisor, I find it intriguing that Prince Harry, who values the safety of his family deeply, has planned a trip to Colombia amidst its current political unrest. Both the U.S. and U.K. governments have raised concerns and advised against non-essential travel there. This decision seems counterintuitive given his focus on security, but perhaps he’s hoping to make a positive impact during these challenging times.

The British Foreign Office suggests that British citizens should not go to specific regions in Colombia, similar to how the U.S. State Department encourages American travelers to think twice about their trips due to ongoing civil disturbances and instances of kidnapping, as stated in the report.

Previously, Prince Harry (aged 39) chose not to visit the United Kingdom with his family because the British government was unwilling to provide him with personal security, a matter he is still advocating for.

Regardless, VP Marquez, who also works as a lawyer and human rights and environmental activist, explained in the statement that the royal couple shall engage with the youth, women, and leaders from the country to drive progress and simultaneously enjoy the rich culture of Colombia.

Despite their departure from the royal family in 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have continued to undertake tours that resemble royal duties, which have surprisingly proven to be successful, despite disapproval from the British Royal Family. In May of 2024, they traveled to Nigeria to present the mental health programs of their Archewell Foundation and support the Invictus Games.

The lavish reception given by the royal pair to the nation, which Meghan Markle referred to as “my country” due to her Nigerian ancestry, reportedly upset Prince William and other active royals in the UK. Some analysts suggested that the couple may be attempting to exploit their royal status, even though they’ve been away from official duties for several years, a move considered inappropriate by many.

Over the weekend, I can hardly contain my excitement as I eagerly await the next public appearance by my beloved royals, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle! They’re set to have a heart-to-heart with presenter Jane Pauler for CBS Sunday Morning, where they’ll unveil details about their inspiring new project. This project aims to extend a helping hand to parents whose children are subjected to online harassment and bullying, while also safeguarding their own precious offspring, Archie and Lilibet. I can hardly wait to learn more!
