The Sticky was a recent comedic series launched on Prime Video, but unfortunately, it didn’t make it past its initial season as the streaming platform decided to cancel it.
It was announced that Prime Video won’t be continuing with another season of “The Sticky.” Fans who appreciated the show have received disappointing news just two months following its debut on December 6, 2024, which included six episodes in its first season.
In its lineup, “The Sticky” featured Margo Martindale, Chris Diamantopoulos, and Guillaume Cyr as its main stars. Notably, the series was graced by the presence of Jamie Lee Curtis in a guest role.
Despite garnering positive responses from many viewers, The Sticky encountered the same end as The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh on Prime Video, as both shows struggled to gain traction with a wider audience, according to available data.
It’s important to remember that creating a successful comedy series often requires more time and energy to engage viewers than a drama series does.
The Sticky was made by a team consisting of Blumhouse Television, Jamie Lee Curtis’ company Comet Pictures, Jonathan Levine’s Megamix, and Sphere Media.)
Additionally, the series’ events are based on a true-life robbery that made headlines worldwide in 2012. In this case, a gang successfully pilfered over $18 million worth of maple syrup from the national reserves of Quebec.
For additional information, the storyline revolves around the character of Ruth Landry, portrayed by Martindale. Ruth is a hardened, middle-aged maple syrup farmer who resorts to criminal activities due to persistent harassment by bureaucratic officials.
Brian Donovan and Ed Herro are not only the creators of the show but also serve as executive producers, showrunners, and writers. Additionally, Levine and Gillian Bohrer are executive producers for Megamix; Curtis for Comet Pictures; and Jason Blum, Chris Dickie, Jeremy Gold, and Chris McCumber for Blumhouse Television.
