‘Pretty Terrifying’: Olivia Rodrigo Opens Up About The Moment When She Fell Through A Hole While Performing Onstage

As a dedicated follower of Olivia Rodrigo‘s career, it’s always fascinating to see the behind-the-scenes moments that shape her journey. The recent incident in Melbourne, Australia, was certainly an unexpected turn of events, but it seemed to have left a profound impact on the singer.

During her concert in Melbourne, Australia earlier this month, Olivia Rodrigo had an unexpected incident. As she was strolling across the stage, she accidentally stepped into a large hole that was in the middle of the stage. Luckily, she didn’t plummet through entirely and was able to pull herself back onto the stage. Initially, the fall seemed comical, but upon rewatching the video (which has since become popular online), Rodrigo realized it was quite terrifying!

On October 29th, Tuesday, The Traitor singer graced The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. During her visit, Jimmy Fallon played a clip for her. In the video, after emerging from a hole on stage, she exclaimed, “Oh my God, that was fun! I’m okay,” continuing the concert. She added humorously, “Sometimes there’s just a hole in the stage.

After viewing the video, she found it incredibly frightening and later confessed as much. In her own words, “Looking back at it, it’s quite terrifying. You know, the show must go on – that’s just showbiz.” The three-time Grammy winner expressed this sentiment.

In retrospect, she found it a wonderful occurrence, and after her fall, though she didn’t sustain a concussion, she was quite rattled. It wasn’t until the end of the concert that she was escorted to the hospital for a check-up. Only then did she discover that the nurse who attended to her was an elderly Filipino man, bearing the name of her late grandfather.

Rodrigo, with roots in the Philippines, was touched by this unexpected event. “Wow, that was him watching out for me,” she exclaimed, speaking of her grandfather. “Ensuring I stayed safe and I’m thrilled it occurred. I believe it’s a lovely tale.” With the Philippines on her travel itinerary following Australia, she had been contemplating her heritage, culture, and family. So, even this mishap turned out to be beneficial!
