Analysis of varying forecasting horizons – short, mid, and long-term – demonstrated performance differences between model architectures. Transformer models achieved superior accuracy in short-term predictions, likely due to their ability to rapidly process sequential data. However, for mid- and long-term forecasting, Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks consistently outperformed Transformers.
