Hulu’s most popular shows in late January 2026 include familiar favorites like police and medical dramas, as well as exciting new crime thrillers. Viewership numbers show people are watching both long-running TV shows and original Hulu content that tries new things. From classic daytime dramas to fresh takes on international series, these shows are attracting viewers nationwide. The current top ten proves that compelling characters and popular TV shows continue to thrive on streaming platforms.
‘Memory of a Killer’ (2026)

The American crime drama ‘Memory of a Killer’ debuted on Fox on January 25, 2026, starring Patrick Dempsey as Angelo Doyle. Based on the 2003 Belgian film ‘De Zaak Alzheimer’ and created by Ed Whitmore and Tracey Malone, the show centers on Angelo’s involvement in a dangerous criminal world as he works for a man named Dutch, played by Michael Imperioli. Richard Harmon, Odeya Rush, and Daniel David Stewart also feature prominently in the series.
‘General Hospital’ (1963–Present)

‘General Hospital’ is a long-running daytime drama that follows the lives of people in the town of Port Charles. The show focuses on the doctors and staff at the local hospital, as well as their families, and the challenges they face at work and in their personal lives. It’s famous for combining medical stories with dramatic romances and has won many awards over the years. Today, it’s still popular with Hulu viewers who keep up with the show’s many characters and ongoing storylines.
‘The Beauty’ (2026–Present)

As a total movie and TV buff, I’ve been really hooked by ‘The Beauty.’ It’s a drama centered around this crazy idea: a sexually transmitted disease that makes people unbelievably attractive, but it’s also slowly killing them. It’s based on a comic, and what I find so fascinating is how it tackles our culture’s obsession with looks. The story follows two detectives trying to uncover the truth behind this ‘perfection virus’ in a world completely fractured by beauty standards and, of course, death. It’s quickly become a standout show because of that unique concept and its really sharp commentary on how we view beauty today.
‘Best Medicine’ (2026)

‘Best Medicine’ stars Josh Charles as Dr. Martin Best, a highly skilled but somewhat unfriendly doctor who moves from Boston to the small town of Port Wenn, Maine. Premiering on January 4, 2026, this American comedy-drama is based on the British show ‘Doc Martin.’ The series centers on Dr. Best as he runs a local practice while secretly battling a fear of blood and trying to fit in with the townspeople. It’s a heartwarming and funny show about a doctor reconnecting with family and adjusting to a quieter life.
‘American Idol’ (2002–Present)

American Idol remains a leading singing competition, giving talented hopefuls the chance to perform for famous judges and compete for a record deal. Viewers vote each week, and the contestant with the most votes at the end of the season is crowned the winner. Since it began in the early 2000s, the show has launched the careers of many successful musicians and continues to attract a large audience on streaming services as viewers follow the latest group of aspiring singers.
‘Doc’ (2025–Present)

I’m really intrigued by this new medical drama, ‘Doc,’ coming out January 7th, 2025. It’s about a brilliant doctor who suffers a brain injury and loses the last twelve years of her memory. Basically, she has to start over as a resident at the hospital, relearning everything she once knew, and also try to rebuild relationships with her family and coworkers. It’s inspired by a real doctor’s life and an Italian series, and I’m excited to see how they portray the difficulties of being a doctor when you’ve lost so much of your personal history – both the medical side of things and the emotional toll it takes.
‘Will Trent’ (2023–Present)

Based on Karin Slaughter’s popular novels, ‘Will Trent’ centers on a GBI agent who brings a unique outlook to solving tough cases. Having grown up in foster care, he’s driven to make sure others don’t fall through the cracks of the justice system. The show combines realistic crime investigation with compelling character development, exploring Will’s personal challenges and the relationships he builds with his colleagues. It’s become a reliable hit with audiences who enjoy realistic and relatable crime stories.
‘The Rookie’ (2018–Present)

‘The Rookie’ features Nathan Fillion as John Nolan, who joins the Los Angeles Police Department as their oldest rookie. Inspired to follow a lifelong dream after a significant life event, Nolan faces challenges and doubts from his younger colleagues and those in charge. The show combines realistic police stories with the personal journeys of the characters as they deal with the risks of their profession. Its blend of action, comedy, and relatable characters keeps it a popular series to stream on Hulu.
‘Tell Me Lies’ (2022–Present)

‘Tell Me Lies’ is a dramatic series that charts the intense and complicated eight-year relationship between Lucy Albright and Stephen DeMarco. Starting when they meet in college, the show follows how their choices impact not only their own lives, but the lives of everyone around them. Adapted from Carola Lovering’s novel, it delves into the messy side of love, the secrets shared among friends, and the dangers of becoming obsessed with someone. The show has become popular for its compelling and psychological themes.
‘High Potential’ (2024–Present)

‘High Potential’ follows Morgan, a brilliant single mother who uses her sharp mind to assist the police in solving crimes, all while working as a cleaner. Inspired by the French series ‘HPI’, the show showcases her clever, but often unconventional, approach to investigations as she teams up with an experienced detective. The story explores the contrast between Morgan’s messy personal life and the strict rules of the police force. The show’s popularity comes from its captivating crime-solving format and the unique way the main character tackles challenges.
