Popular Eternals Member To Be Featured in Next Year’s Marvel Studios Show

As a lifelong Marvel fan, I’m absolutely thrilled about the upcoming “Marvel Zombies” animated miniseries! The thought of our favorite heroes turning into the undead and fighting for survival is both chilling and exhilarating.

Marvel Studios has unveiled a sneak peek trailer and disclosed launch schedules for several MCU shows coming in 2024 and 2025. Awaiting fans are live-action and cartoon programs brimming with beloved characters.

As a passionate gamer, I can’t wait to dive into the thrilling world of “Marvel Zombies,” an upcoming animated miniseries on Disney+. This gripping tale, crafted by the brilliant mind of Zeb Wells, is rooted in the Marvel Comics series and is a captivating addition to the MCU. The narrative unfolds in a timeline distinct from the “What If…?” episode titled “What If… Zombies?!” (2021), where we find ourselves battling against once-venerated heroes and villains who’ve been transformed into ravenous zombies. It promises to be an exhilarating ride!

The show is planned for release in October 2025, about a year following the conclusion of ‘What If…?’, season 3, slated for debut in December of this current year.

So far, we’ve only gathered a glimpse of the storyline from the trailers, but here’s what we know: Showrunners Andrews and Winderbaum have revealed a scene where Shang-Chi and Katy are the last survivors in San Francisco, who are subsequently saved by agents from the Ten Rings. An intriguing plot twist follows when Shang-Chi is bitten by zombies, leading to an act of self-sacrifice by Wenwu, aiming to halt the spread of the infection.

Five years on, Shang-Chi finds himself guiding a band across the arid wasteland, much like in “The Road Warrior.” However, their trek is disrupted when Skrulls attempt to pilfer their livestock. In response, Shang-Chi and his crew, possibly including Jimmy Woo, are prepared for combat.

This suggests that Shang-Chi is expected to play a significant role, alongside Kamala Khan, who was previously introduced, within the upcoming series.

In addition to the main storyline, this series will present diverse variations of multiple Marvel Cinematic Universe characters such as Yelena Belova, Katy, Kate Bishop, Red Guardian, Jimmy Woo, Death Dealer, Shang-Chi, Blade, and Xu Wenwu.

In this game, I’ll be battling against some familiar faces – Hawkeye, Steve Rogers, Abomination, Ghost, Scarlet Witch, Captain Marvel, Ikaris, and even the formidable Okoye! It’s going to be an exciting ride!

Ikaris’ involvement is intriguing, as it marks his debut since the ‘Eternals’, implying there could be future developments involving this character.

As a die-hard gamer, last year, I got wind of some juicy whispers about an upcoming sequel for the epic ‘Eternals,’ with Richard Madden reprising his role. But then, ‘The Marvels’ underperformed at the box office, leading Marvel Studios to reportedly pause multiple projects – including a potential ‘Captain Marvel 3’ and ‘Eternals 2.’

Given that ‘Marvel Zombies’ has been under production for some time now, it seems improbable that Ikaris’ return in this project would be his sole comeback. However, it might serve as a clue that we could see him appear in upcoming ventures.
