Trigger warning: This article contains mentions of death.
As a devoted admirer, I’m deeply moved to express my heartfelt sorrow over the passing of Pope Francis on April 21 at the venerable age of 88. It was an honor for me to share in his profound impact on the world as he tirelessly served and inspired millions. In a poignant statement, His Majesty King Charles III has extended his deepest condolences on behalf of our royal family. This heartfelt message, a testament to our shared admiration, was gracefully conveyed via Instagram under the caption “The King’s message following the death of Pope Francis.
The monarch, clearly moved, recalled fondly the exceptional individual that was the late Pope Francis. “My spouse and I felt profound sorrow upon hearing of Pope Francis’ passing,” the message stated.
Overjoyed beyond words, I learned that His Holiness had departed this world, having graced us with his presence at an Easter Greeting with the Church. The “realm he tirelessly served with unwavering dedication all through his life and ministry” was now without him, but in my heart, he remains as vibrant as ever.
He further honored the deceased Pope by highlighting the traits he was known for, such as his empathy, dedication to Church unification, and relentless efforts in promoting shared goals among followers of various religions.
In addition to contemplating his interactions with the Pope, the King recalled these encounters, particularly the most recent one that took place during his trip to Italy. The statement continued by expressing, “The Queen and I hold dear our encounters with him.
Additionally, Charles shared that he and the Queen felt deeply touched by their encounter with the late Pope recently. Furthermore, they offered sincere condolences and sympathies to the church where he had dedicated himself so firmly.
I, too, extend my heartfelt condolences to the multitude of individuals worldwide who found inspiration in his tireless commitment and devotion to his work. The Pope’s passing on Easter Monday morning has been confirmed by Cardinal Kevin Farrell, the Vatican camerlengo, who manages the church’s day-to-day operations.
At 7:35 this morning, as reported by Farrell, Pope Francis was sadly confirmed to have passed away and returned to his father’s house, according to a statement he made.
