In the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, the Metal Pokémon Mass Outbreak event incorporates aspects of luck-based events and introduces additional features such as exclusive event card designs. This event will take place from May 27 to June 2, 2025.

Pokémon TCG Pocket Metal Pokémon Mass Outbreak event: Missions and rewards

  • Pokémon TCG Pocket’s latest Mass Outbreak event focuses on Metal-type cards and Pokémon, as the name suggests, with the key card of the event being Mew ex. The Metal Pokémon Mass Outbreak event has six missions to complete, each of which can be completed once and rewards Wonder Hourglasses and Shop Tickets.

Here are all Metal Pokémon Mass Outbreak event missions and their rewards: 

  • Wonder Pick 3 times — Wonder Hourglass x1, Shop Ticket x1 
  • Wonder Pick 5 times — Wonder Hourglass x3, Shop Ticket x3 
  • Collect 5 Metal-type cards — Wonder Hourglass x2, Shop Ticket x3 
  • Collect 10 Metal-type cards — Wonder Hourglass x3, Shop Ticket x5 
  • Collect 15 Metal-type cards — Wonder Hourglass x4, Shop Ticket x7
  • Collect 1 Solgaleo ex card — Wonder Hourglass x1, Shop Ticket x1 

In other words, all types of Wonder Picks contribute to completing the Wonder Pick missions, whether they’re from regular packs or special event packs. The same applies to Metal-type cards and Solgaleo ex cards – obtaining them either through booster packs or non-event Wonder Picks will contribute towards your mission progress. However, if you already possess a Solgaleo ex card, it won’t be considered for the missions; it must be newly acquired during the event period.

Pokémon TCG Pocket Metal Pokémon Mass Outbreak event: Bonus Pick and Rare Pick cards

Beyond the missions I’ve already tackled, the Metal Pokémon Mass Outbreak event has introduced some extra surprises to the mix. In this case, these surprises come in the form of Bonus Picks and Rare Picks within the Wonder Pick pool. The best part? Bonus Picks don’t require any energy to use! Instead, they dish out a variety of Metal-type Pokémon cards, Shop Tickets, and Hourglasses. On the other hand, Rare Picks will set you back 3 units of energy, but they guarantee Lightning-type cards like Solgaleo ex, Magearna, and Excadrill. Keep in mind though, no Shop Tickets or Wonder Hourglasses will show up in the Rare Picks.

Pokémon TCG Pocket Metal Pokémon Mass Outbreak event: Event-exclusive flair

Ultimately, the Mass Outbreak of Metal Pokémon introduces an exciting element to the game, exclusively for Mew ex cards. The element is known as the “Yellow Sunshine Sparkles Flair,” which activates during battles when the card is played on the field. This differs from a Cosmetic Flair, where the effects are visible while the card is on the field or in storage such as a binder or display board.

For the Solgaleo ex event flair to be obtained, it can exclusively be claimed with the base Celestial Guardians Solgaleo ex card (A3 122). Cards featuring other versions of Solgaleo ex do not qualify for this flair.
