For several months, players of the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket Edition have had a mysterious item sitting in their collections with no clear use. Many assumed it was an oversight by The Pokémon Company, but they’ve recently announced that the Advance Ticket will soon have a function.
The Pokémon Company is holding a special giveaway to celebrate the launch of the Mega Rising set tomorrow. Both players with and without an Advance Ticket can enter for a chance to win prizes. The top prize will be awarded to 100 players, giving them enough in-game currency to open 100 card packs. There are also other prize levels, with fewer winners at each level.
Here’s the full prize list:
- 1st prize: 1200 Pack Hourglasses – 100 players
- 2nd prize: 120 Pack Hourglasses – 1000 players
- 3rd prize: 24 Pack Hourglasses – All other players
Players without an Advance Ticket will still be eligible for the third-place prize pool, which has upset some long-time players. However, the opportunity to win 1200 Pack Hourglasses is a significant reward for those who’ve remained dedicated, if they’re fortunate enough to win.
Great news! The Advance Ticket is now redeemable! We’re holding a special drawing for players, so be sure to check your in-game Gifts to claim your prize. 🎁

The Advance Ticket was initially given to players who logged in shortly after the game launched, between October 30, 2024, and January 30, 2025, as a thank you for playing early. The Pokémon Company had mentioned it would be usable for something later, but after nine months since the promotion ended, no further details were released.
This news follows Pokémon TCG Pocket’s plan to address player feedback regarding the Deluxe Pack. They’ll be updating the game next summer so that cards from the Deluxe Pack can be used to complete older sets, and vice versa. Originally, the Deluxe Pack’s cards were kept separate from previous sets, which was a controversial decision and widely seen as a major mistake by players, especially since the pack was meant to help players catch up on older content.
