The newest Pokémon TCG Pocket event starts today, October 6th, and runs until October 16, 2025. The event highlights Raichu ex, a strong Lightning-type Pokémon card. While not as versatile as Alolan Raichu ex, it’s a great addition to any Lightning-focused deck.
To join Battle Events, you’ll need event stamina, which refills slowly – one gem every 12 hours. The good news is you don’t lose stamina if you’re defeated! You can speed up the refill with Event Hourglasses, earned by winning battles for the first time and through other rewards. Each battle also offers Battle Tasks for extra prizes and a chance to win rare promo cards through Chance Rewards.
This guide will help you beat the Raichu ex decks in the current Pokémon TCG Pocket event and earn all the available rewards. We’ll cover the most effective decks to use, as well as details on all the event missions, tasks, and prizes.
Pokémon TCG Pocket Raichu ex event: Best deck
Raichu ex, and a lot of the cards used with it in this event, are vulnerable to Fighting-type attacks. Usually, Fighting decks are slow to get going, but Passimian ex (from the Celestial Guardians set) changes that. That’s why we’re highlighting this Passimian deck – it’s one of the strongest currently used in the Pokémon TCG Pocket meta.
- Passimian ex (2)
- Geodude (2)
- Graveler
- Golem (2) – Mythical Island
- Brock (2)
- Leaf (2)
- Professor’s Research (2)
- Pokémon Communication (2)
- Poké Ball (2)
- Rare Candy (2)
- Rocky Helmet
The new Celestial Guardians set has significantly boosted Fighting-type decks, most notably with the introduction of Passimian ex – the first Basic Pokémon ex of its kind. Passimian ex also has a useful ability: when it’s Knocked Out, you can move all its Energy cards to another Pokémon, quickly powering up a Pokémon on your Bench.
The Mythical Island’s Golem deck addresses a key weakness of Passimian ex: its low damage output. Golem packs a powerful punch and has a lot of health. While using Passimian ex as a way to absorb damage and build energy can be risky, including Brock in the deck makes it much more reliable. This allows you to quickly get Golem into play and defeat your opponent’s Pokémon. This strategy is both fast and consistent, which is crucial in the current competitive Pokémon environment.
Pokémon TCG Pocket Raichu ex event: Best low rarity deck
I’ve been checking out the Alolan Ninetales event, and some of the challenges are really interesting! They want you to win battles using *only* cards with ♢, ♢♢, or ♢♢♢ rarities. That’s a bit tricky because it basically means no Pokémon ex cards allowed! But honestly, there’s one deck that immediately jumped out as a good option, and it looks like it could be a lot of fun to play.
- Oricorio (2) – Pom-Pom
- Tapu Koko (2)
- Shaymin (2) – Triumphant Light/Sky Forme
- Professor’s Research (2)
- Sabrina (2)
- Giovanni (2)
- Pokémon Communication (2)
- Poké Ball (2)
- Potion (2)
- Giant Cape (2)
Oricorio is a useful card that completely blocks damage from Pokémon ex, and Tapu Koko lets you switch Pokémon after attacking, bringing Oricorio back into play for your opponent’s next turn. This is especially helpful against decks featuring Raichu ex – a Pokémon the AI often chooses – because you can effectively stop all of its attacks with this combination.
Shaymin in its Sky Forme is key to this deck’s strategy. It eliminates the cost of switching Oricorio out of battle, letting you freely swap between Oricorio and Tapu Koko. By gradually damaging your opponent, you’ll likely secure a victory.

Pokémon TCG Pocket Raichu ex Drop Event: All Promo Cards
During the Raichu ex Drop Event, any Promo Packs you earn will be added to the ‘Gifts’ section on the app’s home screen. You can open these packs one at a time, and each one will give you a random card from a selection of five. Every card has an equal 20% chance of appearing, meaning you have the same odds of getting a Raichu ex as you do a Horsea.
Here’s the full list of cards in the Raichu ex Drop Event Promo Pack:
- Pikachu
- Raichu ex
- Mimikyu
- Machamp
- Regigigas
The biggest strength of Raichu ex is its powerful attack – it deals a lot of damage with only two energy, though it does inflict 30 damage to itself. While it’s more specialized than Alolan Raichu ex and needs Lightning-type energy to function, it’s an excellent addition to a deck focused on Lightning-type attacks.
Pikachu stands out because it has a move that usually does 20 damage, but can do 50 if a coin flip comes up heads – though it costs two energy to use. The promotional Machamp also has a special move, Hurricane Punch, which deals 50 damage for each heads you get when flipping a coin four times. All the other promotional cards just have different artwork and are otherwise identical to the regular versions, with no changes to their moves or stats.
