Pokémon Scarlet & Violet overtakes Sword & Shield on bestseller list

According to Nintendo’s latest update, the video game Pokémon Scarlet & Violet has surpassed Pokémon Sword & Shield in terms of copies sold. At present, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet has sold approximately 26.79 million units, while Pokémon Sword & Shield has sold slightly fewer at around 26.72 million. On the Nintendo Switch platform, these games rank sixth and seventh respectively in terms of sales, as detailed in the list provided below:

On June 5, 2025, Nintendo plans to introduce the Switch 2. It’s anticipated that this new device will be a massive success, with the company even admitting they may struggle to meet demand at launch due to supply constraints. Their current projections indicate that they expect to sell approximately 15 million units of the Switch 2 during their fiscal year ending on March 31, 2026.
