Pokémon Legends: Z-A introduces a lot of new Mega Evolutions, and fans are especially excited about the ones for the Kalos starter Pokémon. These Pokémon didn’t receive Mega Evolutions in their original game, even though Mega Evolution was first introduced in that generation. Now, players can finally use them, but they’ll need to play through the first three seasons of ranked battles to obtain the necessary evolution stones.
Let’s walk you through how to get your first special reward, Greninjite, which will allow you to unlock Mega Greninja – you won’t want to miss it!
How to get Mega Greninja – Legends ZA

You can unlock Greninjite by reaching Rank K in the first season of ranked battles. The good news is, you don’t have to win a lot of matches – simply taking part will help you climb the ranks!
The first season ends on November 5th at 9:59 AM UTC. Make sure to reach the required rank before then to get your Greninjite!
How to reach Rank K – Legends ZA
This game uses a point system to determine player rank. You earn points by playing well in battles and completing actions during those battles.
Firstly, you earn or lose points based on how you place in each battle:
- 1st – 30 points
- 2nd – 10 points
- 3rd – -10 points
- 4th – -30 points
Even if you finish in last place, you can still earn points by completing any of these tasks, each worth 10 points.
- Defeating an opposing Pokémon (10 points for each)
- Being the first player to deal damage
- Being the last player to deal damage
- Being the first player to pick up an item
- Being the first player to Mega Evolve their Pokémon
- Complete the battle without having a Pokémon faint
- Being the player who attacks full-HP Pokémon the most
- Defeat an opposing Mega-Evolved Pokémon (10 points for each)
- Defeat a Pokémon while Mega-Evolved (10 points for each)
- Being the player who unleashes the most attacks
- Defeat an opposing Pokémon with a Plus Move (10 points for each)
- Defeat at least one Pokémon from each opponent
- Use super-effective moves five or more times
- Get three consecutive KOs
Unlike the single-player mode, the online version requires you to advance through the entire alphabet. You’ll need to reach Rank K by leveling up 15 times, but it’s fairly easy to do, as the score requirements aren’t very high.
