Pokémon Legends: Z-A, similar to the previous game, features a quest that explains shiny Pokémon and rewards you with one to catch. This time, it’s a shiny Mareep, which can eventually evolve into a free Shiny Mega Ampharos – a neat bonus for your team!

How to find the Shiny Mareep – Legends ZA
You’ll get this quest right outside Wild Zone 1. Enter the zone and turn right. At the end of the open area, you’ll see a rocky barrier in the fence. Break through the rocks with a fighting-type attack, then go through the opening. Climb the ladder to the rooftops and turn right – you’ll find the Mareep there.
Approach the designated spot, and a special scene will begin. The character who gave you the task will acknowledge it, after which you can attempt to catch the Pokémon. Similar to the Shiny Ponyta in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, this shiny Pokémon is guaranteed to appear and will keep respawning until you successfully catch it.
