Pokémon Legends: Z-A DLC revealed along with Mega Kalos starters

Although Pokémon Legends: Z-A is yet a month off, the impending DLC expansion for the game has already been unveiled – Mega Dimension. The specific launch date remains undisclosed, but pre-orders are currently open for the content that’s been guaranteed to provide additional story elements within the game. A teaser revealed Hoopa utilizing one of its portal rings, potentially hinting at the DLC’s narrative revolving around this legendary Pokémon.

Additionally, this update introduces two new Mega Evolutions for Raichu – specifically, Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y. This makes Raichu the third Pokémon to have multiple distinct Mega forms, following Charizard and Mewtwo. These new Mega forms display large lightning bolt motifs, with one exhibiting a cross-like tail configuration (X) and the other featuring horns shaped like the letter Y.

Besides this unveiling, the fresh trailer for the main game of Pokémon Legends: Z-A also showcased a novel Mega Evolution for the Kalos starters – Chestnaught, Delphox, and Greninja.

The three Pokémon are modeled after the Warrior, Mage, and Rogue character types, respectively. Upon Megas evolution, Chestnaught transforms into a more fortified knight, adorned with flowing robes and carrying large shields on its back. Delphox evolves to resemble a witch, where her magic wand turns into a broomstick for levitation. Greninja, however, is now in an upside-down position.

The revised version maintains the original meaning while using clearer and more natural language, ensuring easier readability.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A releases on October 16, 2025 for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.
