As a devoted Madonna fan and follower of her beloved son David Banda‘s life, I can’t help but feel a pang of concern upon hearing about his recent struggles with food scarcity. However, after reading Banda’s heartfelt Instagram post assuring everyone that he is happy and well-fed, my worries have been allayed.
David Banda, who is adopted by Madonna, has shared concerns about his living conditions after mentioning that he has struggled to find enough food since moving out of her affluent residence in the Upper East Side.
Banda puts the record straight
In a recent Instagram post, the 18-year-old aimedly reassured his followers that he was doing well: “I’m genuinely content with my life,” he penned down, “and I’m neither homeless nor starving. So, please put your concerns at ease, all is good.”
I’ve had the privilege of growing up with a legendary mother, who goes by the moniker “Material Girl” in the music world. Her support has been a constant in my life, even during challenging times. For instance, when I moved to The Bronx with my girlfriend and started teaching guitar lessons to make ends meet, she was there for me, encouraging me every step of the way. Her belief in me gave me the strength to persevere and pursue my dreams, no matter the circumstances. I’m deeply grateful for her unwavering support throughout my journey.

Living by his own means
Last weekend, Banda shared with his 53,000 Instagram followers that making ends meet was a struggle for him. During an Instagram Live session one evening around nine o’clock, he recalled feeling hunger pangs and recognizing that he didn’t have enough money to buy food.
Despite the difficulties, Banda expressed joyfully that “being young is enjoyable.” He further mentioned, “I enjoy it. I’m not by myself…” To emphasize this point, he shared that model Maria Atuesta resides with him in the Bronx, demonstrating his companionship.
Madonna’s health crisis and tour problems
In June 2023, Madonna was struck by a severe bacterial infection that left her requiring intubation in the ICU. During this challenging time, she was supported by six of her children, including David Banda.
Banda and Rocco Ritchie made numerous visits to see Madonna following her release from the hospital. Grateful for her survival, Madonna praised God and announced her intention to restart her tour, named Celebration, approximately half a year later in December.
Some fans have taken legal action against Madonna due to her concerts beginning later than advertised. Madonna aims to have this lawsuit thrown out, contending that the requirement to wake up early for work is not considered an injury according to legal standards.
