‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ Actor Hints at Possible Return for Disney Reboot

Sam Claflin, who many know as Tommy Knight, has recently talked about whether he might reprise his role in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

While promoting his new show, Lazarus, Sam Claflin told ComicBook he’d be eager to play Philip Swift again. He last appeared as the character in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, alongside Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey’s Syrena. Claflin joked that fans should ask the producers to bring him back, saying he’d ‘love to revisit that world.’

Claflin shared his memories of working on his first major film, admitting he was incredibly nervous. He explained that while he’d done some television work previously, the film set was a completely new experience and he felt overwhelmed, like ‘a deer in headlights.’

He admitted it was daunting taking on the role, especially since he wasn’t fully prepared. He explained that he approached the job with a lot of seriousness, which he felt it deserved, and that the character, Philip, was similar in that way.

He added that, looking back, he wishes he’d enjoyed the experience more and savored every moment. He’d jump at the chance to revisit it, calling it a dream come true. However, he acknowledged it wasn’t up to him, and jokingly appealed to producer Jerry Bruckheimer to make it happen.

Although it’s unclear if Taylor Swift will reprise her role, her character hasn’t been completely removed from the story. The Pirates of the Caribbean films often bring characters back, even after they’ve been gone for a while – like Geoffrey Rush’s Captain Barbossa, who returned despite seemingly dying in the first movie.

The show also brought back familiar faces like Lieutenant Gillette, played by Damian O’Hare, after a long absence. Plus, fans might still see Davy Jones reappear at some point.

The fact that Claflin is open to returning suggests Philip Swift could reappear in a potential Disney reboot of the series, giving fans hope he might come back.
