As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for trends and a heart for nostalgia, I must say that the upcoming Freaky Friday sequel is a delightful surprise! Having grown up watching Lindsey Lohan grace our screens, it’s heartening to see her revisit her iconic role and reunite with the beloved Pink Slip band.
The classic Disney movie “Freaky Friday,” starring Lindsey Lohan, is getting a remake, and it was revealed that the band Pink Slip, which played a significant role in the original film, will be back together again. On Jimmy Fallon’s late-night talk show, Lohan shared that her character Anna, along with Christina Vidal (who portrayed Maddie) and Haley Hudson (who played Peg), will reunite for this upcoming sequel.
In the eagerly anticipated follow-up to the 2003 comedy movie, Lindsay Lohan will once more join forces with her screen mom, Jamie Lee Curtis. Notably, Lohan also shared that she’ll be singing in the sequel as well.
When Fallon inquired about a Freaky Friday sequel, Lohan enthusiastically disclosed, “The Pink Slip band is reunited again, that’s right!” She later shared that the movie had been completed in August and referred to it as a “heartfelt project”.
Reflecting on that memorable moment, I can still vividly recall the immense joy radiating from Jamie and myself as we sat at the table, our smiles beaming brighter than ever. Our happiness seemed to overshadow any need for acting, it was so genuine. And let me tell you, that movie is a comedic gem. It’s downright hilarious!
At Disney’s D23 convention in August, Curtis shared in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that the actress from Mean Girls has a deeply moving song that he believes could achieve great success.
Ever since she performed Lindsay Lohan’s song at the Wiltern, a theater in LA, the Oscar winner has found herself humming the tune non-stop, much like an unshakeable melody from a Star Trek episode.
Curtis confidently stated, “This is absolutely going to be a huge success!” She didn’t reveal its title just yet since they’re still working on it, but she hinted that it features some classic tunes from the past.
According to the unveiled storyline for the eagerly awaited follow-up, Anna (Lohan) is now an adult who has a teenager of her own. Their bond seems challenging and intricate. Additionally, hints were dropped suggesting that this film will be both spookier and more amusing than its predecessor.
In the upcoming sequel, we’ll see familiar faces like Chad Michael Murray, Mark Harmon, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao reprising their roles. The title for this Freaky Friday follow-up is yet to be revealed, but it’s planned to debut in theaters in 2025.
