Along with the first trailer, A24 has revealed the plot of Pillion: a shy man finds himself unexpectedly swept away when a mysterious and incredibly attractive biker takes him under his wing as a submissive partner. It’s a fantasy many shy men likely share!
We were really struck by how genuinely sweet the trailer for Pillion is. While it definitely includes mature themes and intimacy, the trailer’s core is a heartwarming connection. Colin’s expression when he tells Ray he can do “Whatever you want, really?” is just pure happiness, and we absolutely love it. We think both Colin and Ray will get a lot out of their relationship, and we’re genuinely happy for them. As viewers, we’re thrilled to see such joyful and authentic gay representation – it’s exactly what we want to see! It’s not quite what we anticipated, but we’re definitely not complaining.
It was also amusing to hear the Pillion trailer use Tiffany’s “I Think We’re Alone Now.” The song gained a lot of popularity recently thanks to its use in the final season of Stranger Things. Could this be a nod to the Byers storyline?
We’re proud to support LGBTQ+ films, and we encourage you to do the same. Be sure to see Pillion when it comes to theaters on February 6, 2026.
