Phantom Blade Zero Will Be A PS5 Console Exclusive For A Year

The newest trailer for Phantom Blade Zero announced its release date and confirmed it will be available exclusively on PlayStation 5 for the first year after launch.

The Game Awards this week had a lot of exciting announcements and trailers, but I was especially thrilled by Phantom Blade Zero. I’ve been following S-Game’s action RPG since it was first revealed, so seeing a release date – September 9th – was definitely a standout moment.

We’ve known for a while that Phantom Blade Zero will initially release only on PlayStation 5 and PC in September. While there’s been no mention of an Xbox version, there’s a possibility it could be ported to that console sometime in the future.

Phantom Blade Zero Could Come To Xbox A Year After PlayStation

September 2027 Is The Earliest Possible Date For Xbox Players

A recent trailer for Phantom Blade Zero was released on the official PlayStation YouTube channel, as noted by Genki_JPN on Twitter. Unlike the trailer shown at The Game Awards, this PlayStation version includes an ending that suggests the game might also come to Xbox.

Similar to the launch trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the new trailer for Phantom Blade Zero reveals the game will initially be exclusive to the PlayStation 5 for at least a year. However, a version for Xbox and other consoles could be released starting September 9, 2027.

Phantom Blade Zero will be released on PC on September 9, 2026. Xbox and Nintendo versions will follow at a later date.

It’s hard to predict when a game will come to Xbox after being exclusive elsewhere. Black Myth: Wukong was exclusive for a year before releasing on Xbox exactly 12 months later, which suggests a similar timeframe could apply here. However, other games like Rebirth haven’t made it to Xbox even after their exclusivity periods ended, so it’s not a guarantee.
