As a dedicated fan who has followed Hope and Bo Brady’s romance since its inception in 1983, I can hardly contain my excitement! The news that Kristian Alfonso and Peter Reckell are returning to Days of Our Lives is like a dream come true. Their iconic on-screen chemistry was always a highlight for me, and it feels surreal to see them reuniting after all these years.
Fans of Hope Brady and Bo Brady can look forward to a delightful surprise! The enduring love story between Kristian Alfonso and Peter Reckell’s characters from Days of Our Lives will be brought back to life on the small screen.
As per TV Insider’s reports, they’ve started shooting scenes for a storyline set to debut in May 2025. The last time viewers saw them both on-screen was back in April 2023.
On Thursday, September 12th, Alfonso, who is 61 years old, shared on his Instagram Stories that they have resumed filming for the hit daytime soap opera. His post read, “Returned to The Brady Pub, come along if you can.
After Bo, played by Brandon Beemer, shot his father Shawn, Bo fell into a coma. To conduct the on-air funeral scene for their onscreen dad Doug Williams (the late Bill Hayes), Alfonso returned to the show in April this year.
The announcement is in line with Michael Sluchan, EVP of Current Scripted Programming and Limited Series for NBC and Peacock’s statement from February, which hinted at “thrilling narratives” to mark the 60th anniversary of the show.
The love story between Bo and Hope started in 1983, as Alfonso and Reckell became part of the DAYS cast. At that time, Hope, being a teenager, had an initial, unrequited affection for Roman, Bo’s elder brother. However, it soon became challenging for them to ignore their growing feelings towards each other.
In 1985, Bo and Hope exchanged wedding vows for the very first time in a lavish ceremony, which took place in England. This special moment was immortalized by cameras as they celebrated their triumph against the notorious villain known as The Dragon, who was a criminal of considerable infamy.
Following her departure in July 2020, Alfonso made a comeback in Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem in 2022, portraying the character Hope. In April, she briefly reprised her role on Days for a tribute to the late Bill Hayes, which is set to be aired in November.
In 2012, Reckell left Days for good, but he’s occasionally popped up on Beyond Salem since then.
