The brand new P5X update has arrived, and it’s quite substantial! Although we’re yet to receive more primary plot content, there’s an abundance of fresh side-stories, Synergy Bonds, characters, and events to engage us for the upcoming fortnight. To top it off, a new recruit joins the Phantom Thieves of Hearts, accompanied by a new 4-star character in our roster.
New Phantom Idols – Makoto Niijima & Chizuko Nagao
Two fresh recruits are being added to the game with this update. One of them is our upcoming five-star character from the Phantom Thieves of Hearts, who goes by the alias Queen, and is known as Makoto Niijima. She excels in offensive attacks, particularly powerful one-time Nuke strikes that become even more potent when enemies are afflicted with elemental ailments.
The second character is a four-star figure known as Chizuko Nagao, or code name Vino, from the Persona series. What makes her unique is her advanced age, which is not often seen in this series. Usually, characters of her age are excluded from the action. As for gameplay, she’s a Nuke-based character, making her an excellent backup option for Queen. This way, Queen can fully realize her potential.
Crossroads of Fate: Bank Arc
In the latest update, Chapter 2 Part 2 of the Crossroads of Fate tale has been included. If you’ve overlooked the Museum Arc, don’t fret as it remains accessible. However, upon finishing the Museum Arc, the Bank Arc is now available too. This new arc follows the gang as they hunt for Joker, Closer, and Queen in a replica of Kaneshiro’s Palace from Persona 5. As previously, successfully completing this event grants you an exchange currency for rewards, and it also unlocks stages in the Sinners of Vanity and Gluttony challenge mode.
New Synergy Bonds – Kiyoshi Kurotani & Yumi Shiina
Two new Synergy connections have been introduced – one is Kiyoshi Kurotani, commonly known as Key, whom you may have already obtained as a 4-star Phantom Idol. Now you can deepen your relationship with him in the school library. The other character is Yumi Shiina, also known as Phoebe, who will be playable as a Phantom Idol Navigator in an upcoming update. Additionally, she’s the crucial Synergy Bond required to unlock the P5X Milk Tea recipe for you.

New Side Stories – Haruna Nishimori & Chizuko Nagao
Additionally, two new subplots have been incorporated, focusing on two characters who are already part of the Phantom Idol roster. Haruna Nishimori, known as Riddle, is the kind-hearted girl often seen in Station Square gathering funds for feline friends. Now, you have the chance to engage with her more deeply and learn about her background. The other character introduced is Chizuko Nagao, a new Phantom Idol in this update, allowing you immediate interaction to familiarize yourself with her personality.
Additionally, some supplementary narratives have received updates, such as the Band Club, Soccer Club, and the photographic journey of Rikuto Shimizu.
New Phantom Pass
At 8 PM UTC on August 6 (which is 4 PM ET), a fresh Phantom Pass will become accessible. This is the pathway of rewards you can advance through by accomplishing Daily, Weekly, and Seasonal objectives. Although the specific content hasn’t been disclosed yet, it’s expected to be quite similar to the initial pass and will offer both free and premium reward tracks for you to conquer.
