Oh my gosh, Katy Perry‘s new album, 143, is absolutely everything! As a die-hard fan who has followed her journey since I first heard “I Kissed A Girl” back in ’08, I can confidently say that this album is a testament to her growth as an artist. The collaborations with Doechii, Kim Petras, 21 Savage, and JID are pure gold!

Perry declared that her intention was to produce an energetic, joyful dance-pop record with the number 143, symbolizing love, serving as the recurring theme. She made this statement upon announcing the album, not long after her departure from American Idol, where she had been a judge for seven seasons.
This month of September has been particularly thrilling for Perry, as she was awarded the Video Vanguard honor at the VMAs on the 11th. The award held even greater significance because her partner, Orlando Bloom, was the one to present it to her, and they couldn’t hide their affection on stage, displaying plenty of public displays of affection (PDA).
In her speech upon receiving the award, Perry emphasized that her presence on the stage was largely due to her ability to ignore the constant distractions that all artists, particularly female ones, encounter in the industry. She encouraged aspiring musicians to discover their unique path, remain authentic and dedicated to their craft, and place a high value on their mental well-being.
1) You can now stream Katy’s latest album on both Spotify and Apple Music. Tonight, she’ll be putting on a show to mark its launch at the Rock in Rio festival in Brazil.
To put it another way, so far, the new album hasn’t garnered a lot of positive responses within its first few hours of release.
