It appears that Netflix is striving to enhance the user experience of its platform. To kick things off, they’ve unveiled a fresh feature with the debut of You Season 5, starring Penn Badgley, aiming to make viewing more engaging and straightforward for users.
As announced by the streaming platform on Thursday, April 24th, fans of the Netflix original series “You” and many other upcoming originals can now choose to turn on subtitles that display only the dialogue spoken in the original language of the show for a more authentic viewing experience.
Earlier, if someone desired text that synchronized with the spoken words in a movie or TV program, they needed to enable Subtitles for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (SDH/CC). These subtitles encompass not just dialogues but also auditory cues such as a ringing phone or increasing music, along with speaker identifications.
On April 24, a fresh feature was introduced on our platform, allowing users to view solely conversations in the original language.
The announcement also highlighted the fact that regardless if you’re in a bustling environment, trying to watch quietly when someone is asleep, or following along with Joe’s inner thoughts, you now possess a greater variety of subtitle choices.
Netflix mentioned that users have the ability to personalize their subtitle settings, such as altering the font style and size. Interestingly, it was disclosed that around half of all watching time in the U.S. includes the utilization of captions or subtitles.
On the very same day that You Season 5 made its debut, this new feature was unveiled. Besides Badgley, this latest season boasts performances from Madeline Brewer, Charlotte Ritchie, Anna Camp, Pete Ploszek, and several other talented actors.
