Peacock has renewed its action-comedy series, Twisted Metal, for a third season, according to Variety. This means fans can expect more of the post-apocalyptic world of the show.
The show has been renewed just months after its second season premiered in July and attracted a large audience.

Michael Jonathan Smith, one of the original creators and the guy who ran things for the first two seasons, is moving on. Season 2 featured the return of Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Seanoa, and Will Arnett. NBCUniversal reports the season has already garnered 993 million minutes of viewing time, making it the second most-watched returning scripted season on Peacock. The show remains a highly popular original series for the streaming service.
This show is inspired by the popular PlayStation game famous for its high-energy car combat and larger-than-life characters. The Peacock series centers on John Doe, played by Anthony Mackie, as he journeys through a treacherous landscape completing a delivery that could determine his fate. During his travels, he encounters dangerous gangs, heavily modified vehicles, and unexpected foes.
The second season broadened the storyline, placing John in a dangerous competition organized by Calypso, portrayed by Anthony Carrigan.
This show has been in the works for several years, starting at Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions back in 2019. It premiered on Peacock in 2023 after being picked up for a full season in 2022, and a second season followed this year. With Season 3 now confirmed, the series is proving to be a continued success.
