As a die-hard fan of Love Island, I can hardly contain my excitement at the prospect of yet another spin-off! With ITV America and Peacock discussing a third installment, it seems that the romance-filled villa may not be going anywhere anytime soon. This is particularly heartening given the recent market slowdown, as advised by ITV America CEO David George during his Content London session.
It appears that discussions are ongoing between Peacock and ITV America regarding the debut of a third offshoot of the hit reality series ‘Love Island.’ This information comes from David George, who serves as the leader at ITV America.
This move highlights Peacock’s increasing relevance, especially after Comcast decided to retain the streaming service while offloading some of its cable and news networks.
ITV America plays a key role in creating both ‘Love Island Games’ and ‘Love Island: All Stars’, which are broadcast on Peacock, as well as overseeing the original American adaptation of this popular series.
ITV Studio’s creation, ‘Love Island,’ remains popular worldwide, with continuous airings still taking place in the United Kingdom.
David George wasn’t very forthcoming about the upcoming spin-off, but he did share that the current versions on Peacock are doing quite well.
Apart from ‘Love Island,’ ITV America is also renowned for developing hit series such as ‘Snowpiercer,’ ‘Hell’s Kitchen,’ and ‘Queer Eye’ in the United States.
It’s possible that a third version of LoveIsland, spun off from ITV America and Peacock, could soon be in the works. David George, CEO of ITV America, mentioned that they are discussing this potential project with their partners after the successes of “Love Island All Stars” and “Love Island Games.

In a recent gathering at Content London, I found myself listening intently as George courageously laid bare some stark realities about our industry’s current market slump. He urged us to approach our ongoing projects with a critical, discerning eye, ensuring we make the most of this challenging period.
He proposed cutting their project schedule in half, stressing the importance of concepts that strike a chord with a wide audience, not just those who create them.
George additionally emphasized that ITV America is expanding their search for potential opportunities outside of the United States. He pointed out their recent achievements in obtaining commissions in Australia and the UK for the first time for their production companies, Leftfield Entertainment and Nobody’s Hero.
Speaking as a passionate admirer, I’ve noticed an interesting shift – the wane of cable television. This change has significantly affected the quantity of content being produced, particularly in the realm of independent productions that concentrate on standalone documentaries.
In the future, it seems that George anticipates a leisurely pace for worldwide commissioning activities. Many purchasers are currently making plans up to 2026, suggesting a more reserved attitude towards initiating new projects.
While voicing his appreciation for Netflix’s stable success amid market fluctuations, he contrasted it with streaming services such as Apple and Amazon, which, according to him, are still figuring out their approach in unscripted content. Additionally, he hinted at a cautious perspective regarding Peacock’s unique identity and strategic direction.
Additionally, George recognized the influence wielded by content makers such as MrBeast and The Sidemen, who are moving into prime-time television. This implies that established media may need to evolve and possibly increase their investment in digital tactics to stay current.
