Pawn Stars Fame Rick Harrison Reflects on Son’s Addictions 1 Year After His Tragic Death: ‘When You Lose A Kid…’

Rick Harrison, well-known from Pawn Stars, shared deeply about his son Adam’s struggles with addiction and his unfortunate passing in January 2024. During an interview on In Depth with Graham Bensinger, he disclosed that he had admitted Adam to rehab facilities several times due to his drug use. However, it wasn’t a common drug that took Adam’s life, but rather the ingestion of fentanyl that proved fatal for him.

As the discussion continued, the reality television figure contemplated his life following Adam’s demise. Harrison admitted to having constant doubts about various aspects of his life. Furthermore, he mentioned that not one day has gone by without him thinking about his son.

Harrison expressed his thoughts by saying, “You can’t help but question everything when you lose a child. It’s as if there’s a loop in your mind asking, ‘What if I had done this differently? What if I had done that differently?’ This thought process never stops, and every day brings back memories of him.

He persisted in stating that his mind would be filled with numerous thoughts, as if he were merely sitting, contemplating different scenarios. Harrison expressed, “You’re stuck in your thoughts, ‘What if I did this? What if I did that?’ You get the idea? What if I just seized him, shoved him into the back of my truck, drove him to Oregon and left him somewhere he couldn’t get drugs? Of course, you have a multitude of ideas. There is nothing more heart-wrenching than losing a child.

The business owner reminisced about an incident where Adam had unexpectedly burglarized his home, leaving him momentarily stunned and unable to respond swiftly. It’s been over a year since Harrison’s son sadly passed away, and now the proprietor of the Gold and Silver show is choosing to emphasize the bright aspects of his life instead.
