Paul Rudd Makes Surprise Appearance Again In Only Murders In the Building Season 4

As an ardent fan who has been following Only Murders In The Building since its inception, I must say Paul Rudd’s surprise appearance as Glen Stubbins was nothing short of a delightful twist! His portrayal of the stunt double, albeit with a questionable Irish accent, added an unexpected layer to the storyline.

Once more, Paul Rudd left Only Murders In The Building enthusiasts in awe – though this occasion saw him portray a different character from his usual Ben Glenroy, who met his end in the previous season. Instead, he took on the role of Glen Stubbins, Ben’s stunt double!

In the latest season, as the trio – Charles (Steve Martin), Mable (Selena Gomez), and Oliver (Martin Short) – investigate who murdered Sazz (Jane Lynch), they encounter a stuntman with an unpolished Irish accent.

In the TV series, his unique personality aided the main characters in discovering crucial details about Sazz. As they frequented the bar she frequently visited with other stunt performers, they encountered less than friendly responses from the patrons. The locals accused them of causing her demise and demanded they vacate the establishment.

Next, we encounter Glen, who trails behind the group on the sidewalk and provides Charles with valuable insights about the Only Murders In The Building movie production in return for a part in the film. Later, he leads them to Dr. Maggie, a chiropractor, where she attends to Charles’s physical well-being.

Throughout this journey, I’ve learned that my dear friend Sazz was contemplating retirement and felt our bond was somewhat lopsided with someone significant in her life. The healing process under Dr. Maggie’s care has led me to experience vivid visions of Sazz, who appears injured and bleeding, speaking of a place called “paradise.” In this moment, it dawned on me that the one-sided relationship she spoke of was actually our friendship. This revelation serves as a poignant reminder for both of us to nurture our bond more equally moving forward.

Upon understanding how significant this friendship was for her, Charles opted to organize a fitting farewell for her. This gesture seemed reminiscent of the probable cause behind the strangers at the bar not extending a warm welcome, as Sazz apparently hadn’t experienced the customary individual send-off with stunts.

Due to Glen’s help, Charles organized a memorial for Sazz by arranging a funeral service in her honor. At the bar, Charles was symbolically positioned on a pool table, representing Sazz’s body. The attendees paid their respects by shattering commemorative bottles on Charles’ forehead.

When it’s Glen’s turn, instead of using a prop bottle, he opts for the genuine one. This action sparks anger among others, leading to an argument. Amidst the chaos, Charles experiences a moment of nostalgia, remembering her dreams about retiring. In all this commotion, Glen reminds everyone that it was exactly how Sazz would have wanted her farewell.

There’s nothing but joy when Rudd reappears in the show. He’s undeniably a beloved character among those who’ve been with us before. His recent comeback received rave reviews from fans, but let’s not forget to mention his side-splitting Irish accent that added an extra dash of humor to it all!

For those unfamiliar, the talented ensemble from the highly praised series has revealed they will reunite for season 5, which will be streamed on Hulu.
