Paul Mescal Claims That He’d ‘Win’ In A Fight With Pedro Pascal; States Latter Is ‘Beast’ While Playing Antagonist Onscreen

As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for entertainment trends and a deep appreciation for the art of cinema, I am thoroughly excited about the upcoming film, Gladiator II, starring Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal under the visionary direction of Ridley Scott. Having closely followed both actors’ careers, their camaraderie offscreen is as intriguing as their onscreen prowess.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal are gearing up to make a spectacular appearance in Ridley Scott’s anticipated masterpiece, Gladiator II. On one hand, they will be locked in fierce battles on the silver screen, but offscreen, their friendship shines brightly. In an exclusive chat with Empire, these two talented actors opened up about their camaraderie and shared stories of their friendship.

During an interview with the media outlet, Paul expressed his confidence in winning a hypothetical fight against his co-star, stating that he believes he would come out on top. Additionally, he playfully suggested that if there was a contest to determine who was funnier between the two of them, it would be Pedro Pascal.

In conversation with reporters, the actor expressed, “I believe I’d come out victorious if it were a fight between us two, but Pedro has a knack for being cunning.” He further added, “Pedro is one of the funniest individuals I know, yet he has this ability to create chaos. Believe me, he can make a mess in ways that are unimaginable. There’s definitely a wild side to him.” In contrast, Pascal affectionately referred to the Irish actor as “Brick Wall Paul.”

The Last of Us actor revealed in his interview, “He got so strong.” He stated, “I would rather be thrown from a building than have to fight him again. To go up against somebody that fit, that talented, and that much younger…”

In the forthcoming movie, Paul Mescal takes on the character of Lucius, while Pedro Pascal assumes the role of Marcus Acacius. The storyline centers around Lucius, a figure seeking vengeance as he re-enters the Roman Empire.

In the aftermath of my uncle’s fatal act against Maximus, my homeland was taken by the mighty emperors of Rome. Years later, I find myself compelled to step into the Colosseum. Driven by fury and a desire to restore the grandeur of Rome for its people, I delve into the past, seeking the fortitude and honor that will enable me to avenge my fallen hero and reclaim our empire’s former glory.

During his interview on Entertainment Tonight, Mescal discussed the conflict between his movie and Wicked and drew a parallel with the rivalry between Barbie and Oppenheimer. In a playful manner, he coined a term by combining the titles of the two films, which he referred to as “Wickdiator.”

He remarked, “Doesn’t ‘Wickdiator’ sound awkward? I’d rather call it ‘Glicked’, if it can achieve something similar to what it did for Barbie and Oppenheimer.”

Gladiator II will hit theaters on November 15, 2024.
