According to Paul Feig, director of ‘Another Simple Favor’, there’s a possibility for additional tales within this film franchise, as he hinted at further development for the characters played by Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick. (PEOPLE interview)

Feig clearly has a vision for where he’d like it to head,” he shared with the media. “Whether everyone is on board for another installment remains to be seen, but the experience was just too enjoyable,” he continued. He also hinted at potential future collaborations with the cast and crew, aiming to explore the characters further.

Director Feig hinted at his desire to take the characters on another bizarre, cross-continental journey, given the opportunity. Lively’s character is Emily Nelson, a mysterious and affluent woman, while Kendrick embodies Stephanie, a single mom who runs a popular parenting vlog.

Stephanie becomes friends with Emily, who shares her child’s elementary school. But Stephanie later discovers Emily isn’t as trustworthy as she seemed, and there’s a mysterious side to her. In the movie version, when Emily vanishes, Stephanie decides to delve deeper into the mystery on her own.

In the second installment, titled “Another Simple Favor,” we find ourselves a few years after the original storyline. The characters, Stephanie Smothers and Emily Nelson, meet up on the beautiful island of Capri, Italy, for what should be a joyous occasion – Emily’s lavish wedding to a prosperous Italian entrepreneur. However, their reunion is overshadowed by a series of unexpected events involving murder and deceit, as suggested in the official summary.

Warning: Spoilers for Another Simple Favor In the end, Stephanie gains fame as an author of true-crime stories. She manages to imprison Charity, who had been disguising herself as Emily, in prison. Meanwhile, Kendrick’s character adopts Emily’s child, while Emily continues her secretive existence in Rome.

At the end of the film, Emily receives an envelope from her criminal matriarch mother-in-law, Portia. The specifics of what’s inside the envelope remain unclear, creating an open ending and hinting at potential sequels.
