People are excited about Paul Bettany reprising his role as White Vision in the new Disney+ series, *Vision Quest*.
This series is a continuation of the story from *WandaVision* and will be released as part of the sixth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2026.
Although it hasn’t been officially announced whether Bettany will appear in future Marvel Cinematic Universe movies like *Avengers: Doomsday* or *Secret Wars*, the series might offer hints about what’s next for his character.
At Los Angeles Comic Con, Bettany discussed the themes of the upcoming show, explaining that it centers around the lasting impact of trauma passed down through families. He described it as a story about fathers and sons, avoiding difficult truths, and ultimately accepting oneself.
Many fans think this hints at the return of Ultron, voiced by James Spader, who is often seen as a father figure to Vision. The idea of trauma being passed down through families also suggests Vision’s children, Wicca and Speed, could be important in the story.
When asked about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Paul Bettany jokingly replied that he’s hoping for a very large salary.
Terry Matalas is the creator of *Vision Quest*, a new series coming to Disney+. The show stars Paul Bettany, along with James Spader, Todd Stashwick, Ruaridh Mollica, T’Nia Miller, Emily Hampshire, and Orla Brady. Development began in October 2022, initially led by Jac Schaeffer, but Terry Matalas took over as showrunner in May 2024 and reworked the series. Filming occurred at Pinewood Studios in London between March and late July, with episodes directed by Matalas, Christopher J. Byrne, Gandja Monteiro, and Vincenzo Natali. The production also included casting for several AI characters, including some familiar faces from previous Marvel Cinematic Universe projects.
This eight-episode series picks up where *WandaVision* left off, following Vision’s story and the connections he makes with others.
