Chu’s directorial prowess in Crazy Rich Asians and Now You See Me 2, I have no doubt that he will weave a captivating tale filled with depth, maturity, and nuance.

Although Wicked is now delighting audiences in cinemas, there’s more to look forward to according to the film’s director, Jon M. Chu.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, the director known for directing the widely adored 2018 film, Crazy Rich Asians, hinted at a plot point for the upcoming installment of Wicked: “Part 1 was centered around choices, but Part 2 will explore the aftermath or consequences.

He then went on to add that choices usually feel a bit of a tough decision to make, however when you do, “the result isn’t what you expect it to be. It can be lonely, it can be hard.”

In a subsequent statement, the director of Now You See Me 2 expressed that the sequel shares a deep emotional depth, as it involves significant introspection. (or) The director revealed that the second movie of Now You See Me delves into some profound self-reflection.

It’s common knowledge that the second half of the Wicked stage musical becomes more somber than its initial part, but Chu hinted that the film version will be lighter in tone.

It’s captivating to imagine what fresh experiences await Elphaba following her revelation about the Wizard. The sequel promises an exhilarating tale of Elphaba evading capture, as the Wizard and Madame Morrible persistently tarnish her reputation with false accusations and slander.

In the upcoming sequel, the story shifts to explore more about Glinda’s personal life, particularly if she ends up marrying Fiyero.

In this production, Cynthia Erivo takes on the role of Elphaba, Ariana Grande portrays Glinda, Jeff Goldblum is cast as The Wizard, and Michelle Yeoh assumes the part of Madame Morrible.
