Following Paramount’s official win of the Warner Bros. Discovery bid, the transition is beginning.
Sources say the Ellisons are exploring large-scale, widely appealing movies with traditional heroic themes, and early conversations include the possibility of reviving the SnyderVerse.

Paramount’s “Big Event” Strategy
Sources say the Ellisons are aiming for major franchise movies and large-scale events, potentially similar to a planned Transformers/G.I. Joe crossover film. There are also reports that Michael Bay may return to direct another Transformers movie.
Paramount is considering another Top Gun movie and a shift back to a more traditional style for Star Trek. The Starfleet Academy show won’t continue past its second season, as it was developed under the previous leadership. Similarly, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is being rebooted.
As a film fan, it’s pretty obvious what Paramount’s aiming for these days, especially with David Ellison running the show. They’re really focused on making movies that a wide audience will enjoy – think big, well-known franchises and stories with classic heroes. It feels like they’re leaning into what’s always worked, and I don’t necessarily see that as a bad thing!
That direction lines up directly with renewed SnyderVerse chatter.

SnyderVerse Back on the Table
Our insiders say the SnyderVerse is still being discussed internally.
That explains the recent wave of activity from Zack Snyder and his circle.
Joe Manganiello’s posts about Deathstroke, Zack Snyder sharing a picture of Henry Cavill as Superman, and Josh Horowitz hinting at a special Zack Snyder project are all efforts to maintain public interest in Snyder’s vision for DC films.
The strategy is simple: keep demand visible while ownership transitions are finalized.

The Timing Isn’t Random
Snyder recently pointed out that March is a significant month for the release of his movies, notably including Batman v Superman.
Horowitz then teased something “special” tied to the 10-year anniversary of BvS.
Shortly after, Joe Manganiello re-engaged with the Deathstroke character online, playfully warning that his efforts shouldn’t be in vain. This happened right before Paramount acquired Warner Bros. Discovery.
With Paramount now owning WBD, these developments seem less like random chance and more like a deliberate, growing trend.

What Could Happen Next?
There haven’t been any official statements about continuing the Justice League or SnyderVerse. I expect the agreement with Paramount might not be finalized until later this year.
But insiders say the Ellisons favor high-profile event films anchored by recognizable heroes.
If the new leadership at DC Studios follows this approach, we could see Ben Affleck reprise his role as Batman, Henry Cavill return as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Jason Momoa as Aquaman – all working together again.
I’ve heard Zack has been developing new ideas for a Justice League sequel, and storyboards for his plans have actually been available online for quite some time.

It’s clear what side Snyder is on
Just to be clear, things are still very preliminary. Studios and support teams are rushing to get organized, and we’re still learning all the details.
Now that Paramount is in charge and Zack Snyder is directly connecting with fans – like when he shared a heartfelt tribute to Henry Cavill on Veteran’s Day, clearly showing where his loyalties lie – the chances of seeing the SnyderVerse return are higher than ever before.
